always had goodyear eagle f1 assymetric 2 but found thease yokohoma v105 going cheap 4 brand new for 200 quid.only snag all way down in cornwall I live in London.48 hr courier and 40 pound send tyres turn up mint as description..im lover of goodyear so hard for me to change mind but on car they look lovely and winter fast approaching soon tell what like somehow I don't think get same mileage as good years I had over 20,000 miles then mot advisory.late summer they grip well raining or not may be a little louder 72db against 69db but hey on the Essex country lanes my golf is like japan bullet train and when hit middle pedal car pulls up dead straight without fuss.i even take hands off wheel and tracking spot on it drives itself not bad for 100,000 mile golf.all in all even full price 82 each I recommend goodyears are 95.still carry on through winter but can only say im well pleased.200 quid was bargain and they should last me well yokohoma you have impressed me from my goodyear days.without a doubt thease are good tyres recommend to anyone on sports car you need good rubber.yokohoma hope I get mileage out them but impressed so far and im sporty driver Read more Collapse

Having used Yokohama's top of the range AD08s (great for trackdays - useless in the wet or on bumpy roads), I wanted something a little more flexible and suited to general road use. The price of the 105s was good and the dry grip is excellent while the wet grip is decent. However, they don't have precise steering response of the AD08s. I can forgive that - after all, this is a tyre designed to be more suited to the road. However, they fall down in other areas too, being very noisy, with a poor ride quality especially as they wear down. And boy - do they wear quickly - faster than my AD08s! On the basis of my experience, I would hesitate to recommend these tyres - just too many compromises for a road tyre Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought these tires with a skeptical attitude because this is my first purchase of the tyres of this company. However, the Yokohama Advan Sport V105 pleasantly surprised me. Excellent grip on dry and wet roads. You can quickly enter a turn without fear of falling. Moreover, these are fairly quiet and comfortable. I recommendthose tyres to all, I’m pretty sure that no one will complain. I will only add that I based my opinion on my feelings on driving about 1500 miles. I did not notice any signs of wear. I predict that after driving 30 or 40 thousands miles my opinion will not change. Read more Collapse

This is the second set of tires of that brand in this car. The first set I had was the Yokohama Advan Sport 225/45/17 ZR – I drove about 50000 miles with them. Due to the fact that the tire is retreaded from the inside in the Honda Accord wagon, I was forced to buy new Yokohama Advan Sport V105 222/45/17 ZR 94 Y (despite the fact that the tread in the old tyres was still about 1,5-2,5 inches). I’m very pleased with them though. Very good grip while cornering at higher speeds! Reliable guidance on the dry and wet asphalt. I would recommend them to all. Read more Collapse

I rode earlier on continental contisport tyres, this time the choice fell on Yokohama (due to the competitive price) and I have no regrets. See how it goes with the durability, but so far it seems that there should be no problems. Read more Collapse

Technology description: Yokohama Advan Sport V105 is the flagship product by Yokohama group, designed for race cars and high-end vehicles. The model is used as the original equipment in such cars as:

  • Mercedes-Benz SL (R231)
  • Mercedes-Benz SLK (172)
  • Mercedes-Benz CLS (C218)
  • Mercedes-Benz C Class (W204)

Despite its sporty character, the tyre does not compromise on comfort, so it’s well suited for users who spend a lot of time in their cars. The tread pattern ensures an optimum behaviour on wet surfaces as well as safety regardless of the weather.
