The Peugeot 3008 is a compact SUV built on a slightly extended version of the Peugeot 308 platform. It was first unveiled as the Prologue Hybrid 4 concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, with its official debut taking place at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show. Compared to the Peugeot 308, the 3008 is 9 cm longer and nearly 15 cm taller, resulting in a more spacious interior that significantly enhances travel comfort, particularly for rear-seat passengers.
The elevated driving position, typical of crossovers, ensures excellent visibility, while the clearly laid-out instruments and the sporty dashboard design add a dynamic touch to the cabin. The Peugeot 3008 is also highly practical, featuring a double-floor boot that allows for flexible cargo arrangements. With the rear seats folded flat, the luggage capacity expands to over 1,600 litres. Numerous storage compartments throughout the cabin further enhance everyday usability, showcasing the designers' effort to maximize interior space.
Another highlight of the 3008 is its advanced technology, including the Grip Control system, which improves traction in light off-road conditions. Despite its modest ground clearance, the 3008 handles small inclines with ease, offering a balanced ride and responsive handling.
In 2011, Peugeot introduced the Hybrid4 version, featuring a hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0 HDi diesel engine with 163 hp driving the front wheels and a 37 hp electric motor powering the rear axle. This innovative setup not only boosts performance but also significantly reduces fuel consumption to just 4.1 litres per 100 km.
The standard tyre size for the Peugeot 3008 is 225/50 R17.
