Brand Chrysler

Beginning. The Chrysler company was established in 1925. It was founded by Walter P. Chrysler, a machinist. Initially, he worked as the manufacturing manager at Buick Motors in Flint, Michigan (USA). Chrysler Six was the first car manufactured by the factory in 1924 (the factor was called Maxwell Motor Company at the time).

Development. In 1928, the first Plymouth car was presented. Six years later, Chrysler was already the second largest car manufacturer in the USA. During World War II, the company manufactured vehicles for the needs of the US Army. In 1987, Chrysler bought the AMC company — the owner of the Jeep brand. In 1988, Chrysler Corporation merged with Daimler-Benz AG. This is how the DaimlerChrysler AG group came into being. On 14 May 2007, DaimlerChrysler announced its intention to sell 80.1% of shares in the Chrysler company to Cerberus Capital Management, a financial investor, retaining 19.9% of shares in the group and, at the same time, to change the company's name to Daimler AG. The former Chrysler Group assumes the name of Chrysler Holding LLC. This transaction entailed the break-up of one of the largest global car manufacturing groups, which had been operating for 9 years.

Present. The US President Barack Obama announced the company's bankruptcy in 2009. Chrysler received 8.08 billion dollars for reconstruction from the US government and 2.42 billion dollars from Ontario province. For this, the American government took 8% of shares, and 2% of shares were taken by the Canadian federal government and Ontario province. 20% of the company's shares were bought by the Italian Fiat company. In 2010, the company manufactured 1.085 million cars, which meant a 17% increase compared to the previous year.

Contribution to the automotive industry. Chrysler is known for producing beautiful concept cars. The Dodge Viper and PT Cruiser are the best known examples. Chrysler initiated mass production of cars with a four-wheel drive system, hydraulic brakes and a rubber engine mount to decrease vibrations. Contemporary Chrysler models: 300/300C, Aspen, Grand Voyager, PT Cruiser, Sebring.

Tyres. Tyre manufacturers often cooperate with Chrysler, providing Original Equipment (OE) tyres. A few examples: The Chrysler Sebring, size 215/60R17, is offered, amongst other things, with Bridgestone ER300 tyres, size 215/60R17 96H. Other sizes for this car are 205/65 R15 and 185/65 R15. The Chrysler Grand Cherokee is offered, amongst other things, with Goodyear HP All Weather and Wrangler AT/R tyres. The Chrysler PT Cruiser is offered, amongst other things, with Goodyear Excellence tyres, size 195/65 R15, and the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country were equipped with Yokohama AVID s33 tyres, size 225/65 R16.
