Mercedes C-Class

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a premium mid-size passenger car, classified in the D segment. First introduced in 1993, it replaced the Mercedes W201, commonly known as the "190". Until the launch of the A-Class in 1997, the C-Class was the brand’s smallest model. The first-generation C-Class, designated W202, featured understated body lines and a refined, luxurious interior—hallmarks of the German automaker's design philosophy. It was available in both saloon and estate variants, with the estate version labeled S202.

Renowned for its high level of comfort, the W202 came standard with features such as a driver’s airbag, power steering, side impact protection, ABS, a five-speed manual transmission, and central locking. Buyers could choose from four trim levels: Classic, Esprit, Elegance, and Sport. Additionally, several limited-edition models were released. In June 1997, the C-Class received a facelift, and sales surpassed one million units. A notable addition at that time was the C240 V6, delivering 170 hp.

In 2000, Mercedes-Benz introduced the second-generation C-Class, the W203, available in saloon, estate, and liftback body styles. A facelift in early 2004 brought a refreshed interior and new six-cylinder engine options. The third generation, the W204, debuted in 2007, offered in saloon and estate versions with three trim levels: Classic, Elegance, and Avantgarde.
