Ford Transit

The Ford Transit is a van manufactured by the American Ford Motor Company, primarily for the European market. With over 40 years of production, it has become the most popular light commercial vehicle in Europe. In many countries, the word "Transit" has become synonymous with "van." The name was first introduced with the Taunus Transit model in 1953, a vehicle designed almost exclusively for the German market. However, the first purpose-built delivery vehicle debuted in 1965. At the initiative of Henry Ford, Ford's divisions in Germany and the United Kingdom collaborated to develop a single model that could effectively compete with other commercial vehicles across Europe. The Transit has consistently been marketed as a delivery van with the comfort and performance of a passenger car. The Ford Tourneo, a minibus variant based on the Transit, has received nearly identical updates since its introduction. It features a facelifted design with significantly larger headlights and a redesigned front grille. The interior has been upgraded for improved ergonomics, including a dashboard-mounted gear lever and a completely new radio system. All diesel engines in the Transit range are equipped with TDCi injection technology. The only petrol engine available is the Duratorq unit, also used in the Ford Ranger. Buyers can choose between front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive configurations. In addition to the standard models, Ford has produced special versions such as the Transit Country, featuring raised suspension and 4x4 drive, and the Transit XXL, an extended limousine version created to celebrate the model's "Van of the Year 2007" award.

The factory tyre sizes for the Ford Transit are 195/80 R14 and 205/75 R16.
