195/40 R16 tyres are designed for family cars and executive cars with good engine power. The size of the tyre can be seen on its sidewall where it is presented with the help of strings of numbers and a letter. The first number informs about the tread width of the 195/40 R16 tyre and it is provided in millimetres (here 195 mm). The second number equals the 195/40 R16 tyre profile's height and its percentage ratio to the tyre's tread width (40% out of the 195 mm of tread width).
