Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac

3PMSF The presented tyre is marked with 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake). It means that the tyre meets the EU requirements for winter tyres. The symbol is awarded after thorough tests of a tyre model in terms of snow grip.

High class winter tyres Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac are available in the Vredestein concern offer. This model is especially recommended for mounting in the highest class cars. It ensures safe and dynamic drive in all winter conditions. The tyre’s additional benefit is the appearance, whose aggressive look it owes to the Vredestein concern cooperation with the Giugiaro Design Italian company.

Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac tyres have been designed with the view to demands and expectations of the drivers who must cope with difficult winter conditions. The constructors took care so that every detail of the model was functional and efficiently contributed to the driving safety. Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac tyres feature W-shaped tread pattern with the proper size and grooves distribution. Such a carving ensures that the tyre’s pattern is attractive, aggressive and the driving quality is enhanced. Rubber compound patented in accordance with the OSP technology has been used in the production process. As a result, the rubber preserves its’ properties even in the low temperatures and better holds the road. Additionally, the compound positively influences the tyre’s pressure distribution; therefore, the tyre wears more slowly and the car runs much more stable. The model’s advantage is quiet running which results from such a construction. The tyre reduces noises and vibes which significantly influence enhanced driving comfort. It also behaves splendid on snow and ice, due to the fact that it features central grooves set up under 90% angle. They ensure that the tyre stands out with its adhesion even in the most difficult conditions. Zigzag sipes reinforce the adherence effect which causes that the Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac model is perfect for the winter use as it ensures safe and comfortable drive.

Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is a winer tyre recommendable for mounting in the highest class’ cars. It belongs to the premium class which ensures the best performance.

I purchased these tyres for my 335i coupe twin turbo petrol for the winter in the UK. I ran them on my original 17" wheels which have a 255 rear and 225 front. This really helped as the car has a lot of power and torque and can ask a lot of the rear tyres. I normally run 19" wheels for summer with high performance tyres. The Vredsteins were excellent. They provided superb wet grip and in the minimal snow that I drove had superb grip in the snow. I really liked the way the tyres didn't harden in the colder temperatures unlike summer tyres. Ride quality was fantastic but some of this would have been running them on a 17" wheel compared to my 19" wheel summer tyres. Longevity was very good although I didn't cover many miles during winter so difficult to say. Dry grip was good considering they are a winter tyre but I did find the handling a little vague at times but this may have been because the tread blocks were still very new and tall and moving a little bit. Overall though I am delighted with them and very glad I fitted a winter tyre and will be putting them back on the car in early November having swapped them at the beginning of April to my summer wheels/tyres. Superb tyre! I have used many different brands in the past but the Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is my first one with this manufacturer. I made the right choice. After my trip to the mountains I have come to realise that none of the tyres I used before can compare to Xtreme Wintrac when it comes to grip in snow or on ice. The tyre behaves almost like a studded one!. No problems in the wet or on dry tarmac either. The noise level is much lower than Pirelli P6000 summer tyres. I can recommend buying Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac. Read more Collapse

My previous set was Dulops 3D and I can honsetly say that Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is way better. They bite into snow like crazy and what is even better the braking in wet is no problem. The handling in such coditions is also more than good, for that matter. My set for the summer is Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta and, for me, Vredestein is the only tyre to have. And the pricing? 20 - 30 % cheaper than Goodyears and Dunlops and half the price of any Michelin. Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is the only tyre you wil ever need. Read more Collapse

I purchased these tyres after considering many different brands. I had Nokian WRG2's on a previous car, but these Vredestein tyres are just great and instil confidence under all road conditions. My only gripe is that they pick up the small chippings from my gravel driveway, but I can live with that. These tyres actually look good too - designed for SUV's. They certainly look a lot meatier than the Chinese-made Runway Enduro's that came with the car. Read more Collapse

Very impressed with these winter tyres. Very good grip levels in both dry and wet conditions. Winter conditions where mild so only had a couple of times I needed there snow ice grip, but handled the power of the car well. Definable reduction in grip and very soft feel when temperatures where above 10 degrees. Drove around 4000 miles and no noticeable wear in the tyres before going back to the summer set. Also look great which is a bonus Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

The Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is definitely not an average tyre both in case of driving qualities and design. Unfortunately, one of those I have has a slight bulge on the inner side. I can't recall driving on the pot hole or hitting a kerb. So for this tyre class that's a bit odd. They are also quite expensive to buy in the first place. I don't know about the complaint yet. But other than that.. They are just fine. Read more Collapse

I don't think you could call Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac a cheap tyre, unless you find some bargain. It is definitely no worse than the big brands. It is rather quiet as well, except for slush. Outstanding handling in corners and it is really hard to lose grip, even on purpose. It is a liitle bit worse when pulling off in deep snow and when you brake too hard it will start sliding as well. One of my friend, who is a tyre fitter himself, recommended the Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac to me. I must say I'm not dissapointed, definitely better than Dunlop 3D, wich I had on before. They worked in Alps - superb grip - I'm really pleased. The directional tread pattern copes with all the water and slush easily. I would recommend them to anyone who likes to trash around a little. I was pleasantly surprised by how this tyre behaves in various conditions. In corners Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is way better than most sumer tyres! The rear ones lasted for one season only, but then again the car has like 400 nm of torque. It is a great tyre no matter what the surface. Even Michlins pilot alpins were not as good as this Vredestein is. Read more Collapse

BMWs have a reputation of not being good in winter conditions, this is only because they are on the wrong tyres most likely summer ones. My drive to work is 70 miles up the A9 in Scotland where there is frequently snow covered, slushy roads. These tyres together with a bit of weight in the boot have never let me down in depths of snow up to 10" Read more Collapse

Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac is a great tyre! The braking is superb! Handling is ok, however, there aren't many 225 tyres that would behave better. A great tyre for snowy roads. Vredestein Xtreme Wintrac grips through the corner, however pulling off might be a bit tricky. I guess though that it might have more to do with the car being front wheel drive and how heavy it is, rather than the tyre. Recommended buy! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

In ice snow and extremely good gel. Confidence in the tire. Excellent grip. In dry handles well. Bit rolling, as opposed to summer tires, but wuite passable. You lose the direct leadership of a summer tire, but its still acceptable. Many wet grip. And tire wear rates is good. Takes 5% or so mpg closed but again acceptable for the benefit of winter safety and confidence. Im sure this is the winter tire to answer. Cheaper to buy in September before the winter demand. This tire is scheduled for Sunday rides with my VW Beetle in order! to drive Should you however remember on tires in winter is a big challenge, despite all-wheel snow and icy conditions! The small bulb of ESP is a permanent companion 😝 and dry conditions! Brake is logical White also such a thing ... Have the tires sold after 2 weeks and am mature for a Michelin switched! I can not recommend this for tire! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I drove on the tire tens of kilometers for four seasons. Abrasion standard. Good traction in the wet. For dry very well. Snow weak. At higher traction can break even on dry. This tire for the winter without snow, or sleet but at positive temperatures. On a typical winter, I would not recommend. Nice appearance (but what does it matter) and sensational calm as zimówkę. To 100km / h noise minimal. Read more Collapse

Quiet tire. This is the biggest advantage. Traction average. The conditions of spring and autumn can be. On dry not too bad but it can break traction. The snow in sub-zero temperatures-poor. A small snowdrift is a big problem. Śniegowe- mud running good. In the rain around. Certainly more tires will be different. winter tyre not be afraid of the snow. Read more Collapse

Highly recommended, with an interesting tire tread, quiet, number one in tests in terms of traction and definitely confirm that. As for braking, start on wet and dry is not a strong point of the tire. It is important to not overdo the pressure because I lost the tread of a tire.
