Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 175/55 R20 89 T XL, *
Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 is a summer tyre for electric vehicles. It was created by the combined forces of two giants of the car market, Bridgestone and BMW. Their cooperation resulted in the Bridgestone Ecopia EP500, the tyre which will be fitted as standard on the electric BMW i3.
This new tyre has better aerodynamic parameters and lower rolling resistance which helps to reduce fuel consumption. This, in turn, reduces fuel costs and makes driving more environmental friendly. The innovative combination of a large diameter and relatively narrow tread reduced potential tyre deformation and friction.
Excellent grip on dry and wet roads is ensured by a special rubber compound that forms a modern, asymmetric tread pattern. Bridgestone Ecopia EP500 is ideal for all drivers who value ecological and safe driving.
Bridgestone is one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world. It owns many brands, including: Firestone, Dayton and Road King. The company was established in 1931 years and currently it operates 59 factories around the world. In the period between 2006-2010, the company was the official supplier of tyres for Formula 1 and it still uses this experience in the serial production of tyres. Apart from tyres, Bridgestone manufactures rubber products, auto parts, chemical products and sporting goods. The first Bridgestone factory in Poland was opened in 2001 in Poznań.

Fuel efficiency is rated from A to G on a colour-coded scale. The highest fuel efficiency rating is A (green; the lowest rolling resistance), while the lowest fuel efficiency rating is G (red; the highest rolling resistance). Rolling resistance influences fuel consumption and vehicle emissions; the lower the resistance, the lower the fuel consumption and exhaust fume emissions.
Wet grip is the tyre's ability to adhere to the road surface in wet conditions. The EU rating focuses only on the wet braking performance of the tyre. Wet grip is rated from A to G, where A represents the best braking performance and G represents the worst. It is one of the most crucial safety parameters.
Tyres contribute to the amount of noise a vehicle generates. Choosing a tyre with a good noise rating will lower the impact of your driving on the surrounding environment.
