Toyota Auris

The Toyota Auris is a compact mid-range hatchback produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. It shares its chassis platform with the Toyota Corolla and was introduced in Europe as a replacement for the Corolla hatchback. Designed to compete with models like the Volkswagen Golf, the Auris offers similar dimensions and practicality.

Although aimed at a younger audience, the Auris retains the conservative styling typically associated with the Corolla. The interior is well-designed, but early production models were criticized for the subpar quality of some finishing materials. The gear lever is positioned relatively high, which may not suit all drivers, and the elevated driving position may feel mismatched with the car’s sporty aspirations.

Thanks to a stiffer suspension setup compared to the Corolla and quality tyres, the first-generation Toyota Auris appeals to drivers who enjoy a more dynamic driving experience. The boot offers a practical 354 litres of space, which expands to 777 litres with the rear seats folded down.

The Auris is available with a wide range of engines. The entry-level petrol option is a 1.3 VVT-i producing 97 HP, while the base diesel is a 1.4 D-4D with 90 HP. The most powerful petrol engine is the 1.8 Valvematic with 145 HP, and the top diesel variant is the 2.2 D-CAT delivering 175 HP. True to Toyota’s reputation, the Auris is known for its reliability and solid engine performance, making it a popular choice for both private owners and fleet use.

Factory tyre sizes for the Toyota Auris include: 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16, and 225/45 R17. Optionally, 225/40 R18 tyres can also be fitted.

How to Reset the Tyre Pressure Sensor in the Toyota Auris

To reset the tyre pressure sensor in the Toyota Auris, locate the dedicated reset button positioned deep beneath the steering wheel. Press and hold the button until the tyre pressure warning light on the dashboard stops flashing. Please note that this procedure may vary depending on the model year and trim level.
