Seat Toledo

The Seat Toledo is a series of C-segment passenger cars produced by the Spanish automaker SEAT. Over the years, three generations of the Toledo have been introduced. The first-generation Seat Toledo debuted in 1991 and was the first model developed entirely in collaboration with the German automotive giant Volkswagen. Its predecessor was the SEAT 131, and the design was penned by the renowned Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Toledo I was based on the platform of the second-generation Volkswagen Golf and was offered exclusively as a liftback. The engine lineup for the first generation included four petrol and three diesel options, all sourced from Volkswagen. The entry-level engine was a 1.6i 8V producing 75 hp, while the most powerful variant featured a 2.0i 16V engine delivering 150 hp. In 1995, the Toledo I received a facelift, which introduced more rounded styling elements. In 1998, SEAT launched the second-generation Toledo. This model shared its platform with the Volkswagen Golf IV and had similarities with the Volkswagen Bora and Skoda Octavia. It also incorporated several components from the Audi A3, enhancing its overall quality and appeal. The third and final generation of the Seat Toledo was introduced in 2004, with a design crafted by Walter de Silva. This version marked a significant departure from its predecessors, blending elements of a saloon and a minivan. It was built on the same platform as the VW Golf, VW Jetta, and Skoda Octavia. Despite its innovative design, the third-generation Toledo struggled to gain popularity and was eventually discontinued in 2009.
