    Opinion from outside the UK

At the moment, I go for the three winter winter tyres and the life I had in the car better than the Nokian tyres. What a moving car is a Honda civic type r, which now has 260 horses so if the tyres were really weak it is known that the council would not allow. I had a Michelin Alpin A3 and after the first winter I sold because I was not pleased with them. Unfortunately, the snow tyres were strong, average, well-exercised only on the asphalt, and that very often I go to the mountains in the winter is also very good tyres needed and to my surprise, Nokian, which cost half of what turned out to be a sensational Michelin tyre. Highly recommended. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I was a little concerned about how they will manage tyres in a car with rear-wheel drive, but the purchase and receive a real snowy winter my doubts were dispelled. Tyres surprised me, ride on them better than the summer, and in the snow and mud are doing great. Not only that, not once have held out another car that had problems with pull away, and I think it will be thanks to the tyres, and the car does not control systems. Two seasons verify very well, now I'm waiting for the third season and I hope that they continue to reliable. Read more Collapse

After 1szym the winter season, one tyre to replace, side bump - probably a hole in the road. The tyre is available in the market all the time so you can easily buy in case of damage. On this snow tyre shows what was designed :) hockey, you know you will not go without a thorn, slush without problems, the only remark is driving on wet roads, it is not as good as Uniroyal rainsport2, but it's winter tyre, not rain So it is quite OK. Nokian tyres ride on my first car. Really, this company makes the best winter tyres. Even the price is not prohibitive - but the properties of the tyres really are amazing. All my colleagues have established this tyre brands and such and have not heard of any problems with this tyre, maybe a little attrition is high but the skilful driving and replacement of the tyre enough time for about 3 seasons. I bought the tyres a good experience with this brand in another car. Unfortunately, in my Share is not already exercised so sensationally I wanted. The average traction in slush, while driving without undue pushing the gas loses traction. Although I still struggle with the optimum tyre pressure for the winter. But maybe others do not have such problems. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought Nokian WR G2 last year and I was using them in Chicago, IL. I think that it was pretty accurate choice for me as this years winter was pretty heavy. What is more, the economical crisis has it's impact also on the snowplow service as there were much less money for such services this year. But this is not the crucial thing. My Nokian WR G2 are behaving very good on snowy/icy roads. I am talking about braking. Moving-off on icy road with my 4x4 is pretty straigh-forward to be honest. While driving on snowy-mud you have to be a bit cautios as it is pretty easy to slush and no tyres will be able to rescue it's user from that. I had previously Barum equpied in my car and they were not as good as those Nokian WR G2 are. I feel pretty confident while cornering and braking. I do not have to worry aboout any skids/slushes etc as I am sure that with a bit of driving skills and good tyres you can be just safe. To conclude, I found Nokian WR G2 to be a brilliant snow tyre. I bought those Nokian WR G2 as I analyzed all advantages and disadvantages, I have read a lot of reviews etc. And this is how my trouble started. Although, they I have tried to balance them in a professional fitting station in Hull, it was not possible to balance them correctly. THey are rumbling as hell. While driving over 60 mph my car just shakes like jelly. I went to the fitting station for multiple times right now, and they were not able to properly balance those tyres. It seems that Nokian WR G2 in the size 195/65R15 has some balance issueswhich simply made them useless for me. One time, I thoight that my nightmare has already finished, but once day I went for shopping with my family and I saw that I have lost 30g weight from one wheel so the car again started to howl/rumble and shake as hell. I do not wish to judge their performance as simply the noise level and the steering wheels wobbles took all my driving pleasure away. I will never buy WR G2 once again. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I had to put those onto my Passat B6 2005 140 bhp. I have to say that Nokian WR G2 are quite nice. On dry/wet road surface they perform very good. They grip is very decent also while cornering which in my opinion is crucial for winter tyre. My car consumes the same amout of petrol as on my summer tyres so I believe that rolling resistance is quite low with this WR G2 tread. Snow performance can be judge as top shelf. It is obvious that on snow or ice the performance of those WR G2 is supported by ESP and ABS but that is their puropse so I do not care whether abs or esp turns on as I believe that they are here to make me safe not annoy me. Very stable confident driving comofrt I have to say. Switching lanes on a bit of snow is also not a problem thanks to the asymmetric tread pattern which actually bites the snow. Price/quality ratio seems to be much better than I expected it to be. I do recommend Nokian WR G2 as your winter tread. Try them You will not regret. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I would like to point out that for me Nokian WR G2 is a perfect tyre. Although this 07/08 winter season did not give me too many oportunities to test their snow performance I think that next season I will use my WR G2 once again and I am sure that they will peform aboslutely splenind next year as well. Very good performance on dry/wet road surface - 0 surppises. The same goes with the noise level which is absolutely barely noticable. They are way more silent than my previous Dunlops. To be absolutely honest, I had some problems with balancing my new Nokian WR G2. IN october I bought new steel wheels and tyres to fit those and in my fitting station they were trying to balance them for about 2-3 hours. The pressure was arround 5 bar but the tyre did not want to fit the rim. I think that it might be the issue with the steel wheel not with the tyres but I did not investigate that case any further. Opinion from outside the UK

These are my first tyres from Nokian and I have chosen the WR G2 to be mi first Nokian winter tread. I think that these WR G2 are a bit overrated especially when it comes to driving on icy/snowy road surface. Firstly, my car behaved pretty predictable on dry/wet road surface. Secondly, the noise level is also relatively low as I could barely hear the diference between Nokian WR G2 and my summer Pirelli P6. What is more, at speeds ober 130 MPH my car handles pretty confident and stable. Previosuly I had my winter tyres from Barum and they were kinda swimming while cornering which does not happen to these Nokian WR G2. I also went to Poland for Christmas and the winter there was pretty hard. I have to say that my tyres were performing just superb. I do recommend those. Read more Collapse

I bought those Nokian WR G2 as I saw many positive opinions about them on Oponeo website. I can trully claim that I am not disappointed at all. After changing my summer tyres to those winter WR G2 the first surprise to me became the noise level which was actually way lower than on my summer tyres. I would like to point out that it was october and the temperatures were about 10 cellsiuss. After driving about 500 miles and when lower temperatures came into play Nokian WR G2 became a bit stiffer and a bit more noisy but not that noisy to be some kind of issue to me. I think that those are just marvelous winter tyres. There is nothing that I could point out to prove any sort of disadvantages. Nokian WR G2 was the best winter tyre I have ever driven on. Opinion from outside the UK

My first impressions since October to November: on the wet it's sticked, on the dry I have no obligations - very silent, not louder than my summer Goodyear tyres, they behave splendid on the wet asphalt - full control, predictable, it does not tear off the surface. The last few days - mid November, first snows and frosts: on the frosted sett we won't risk - besides, no other tyre will manage with this. Slush and snowdrifts - a piece of cake - the tyres cut through the obstacle as a butter, they are stable and perfectly controllable. I am very positively surprised. When buying - I followed the reviews from opony.com website - in my opinion in reality everything is the same - cheap, splendid tyre - I recommend. Read more Collapse

I read many reviews before the purchase of Nokian WR G2 at the beginning of November 2007 as nobody from my acquaintances had them. Now in January I can rate them also on the snow. I drove on the dry, wet, snowy and icy road. Even on the slush the tyres worked perfect. On the snow excellent traction as for me. When it comes to the ice I think that they perform sufficiently. Well, ice always will be ice and if one would like to have perfect holding on the ice he/she should buy spikes. This is my 10th winter behind the steering wheel but the first on these tyres and I will rather continue buying Nokian products. When it comes to attrition I cannot say too much as I drive on them 2 months only. Read more Collapse

Nokian WR G2 is a splendid tyre, ensuring complete sense of safety on the wet and dry road, slightly worse on the snow, whereas the worst in the new, wet snow with the water but still good. Comfortable and quiet, assymetrical tread, which allows for changing the wheels in the car at will without removing the tyres from the rims. The appearance marvellous for me, the border covering the rim, minimal wear. Winter being over, I can state that Nokian WR G2 are the best tyres which I ever had. I had many of them and only Nokian can be comparable with them (it seems better in extreme conditions). Any doubts are dispelled by the price. To sum up - really successful novelty of Nokian, I recommend. Read more Collapse

Nokian WR G2 are splendid tyres. Maybe the layout of the fuses is not very attractive visually but the tyre perfect for the snowy conditions, ice and glazed frost. Slightly worse in the rain but this is most probably the fault of the heavy car. What is most important, it is quiet and comfortable. Much quieter than Dunlop for example. It wears moderately fast, but this may be due to the heavy car (Citronet C5) and this might be the reason for its' mediocre result on the wet asphalt. Unfortunately, recent winters in our country lack snowfalls and better tyres can be chosen. However, in mountains, where powdery or compacted snow or even icings linger, Nokian WR G2 is splendid. I had Nokian WR G2 in my bike and I also bought them for my car and I wasn't mistaken. I didn't have the opportunity to drive on the snow and ice, however, they are ideal in the conditions of +3 C degrees and the rain mixed with snow. In the potholes filled with water they also work splendid with no floating effect. Previously, I had Michelin, Debica, Kleber and Continental. Unfortunately, on the dry surface and +12 C degrees - after the sharp braking I left the trace of the tread on the road. It's weird as I have ABS+BAS+ESP etc. but Nokian WR G2 are winter tyres so in such temperatures they can behave strangely, although the previous ones never wore so quickly. Read more Collapse

Nokian WR G2 are really good on the dry and the wet asphalt. Compared to the GY UltraGrip Performance which I had in the size of 225/45 R17H, the difference is definitely to the advantage of Nokian. On the snow it is mediocre, although there were not many opportunities to test that. In comparison to Uniroyal MS Plus 66 215/60 R16H (not pretty fair comparison) braking on the compacted, frosted snow was much worse (the test in the lapse of 15 min. on the same distance). The main drawback is the noise - unfortunately, they are exceptionally loud. Summing up, very good tyres for the fast car and the winter in the city. For its' price it was an absolute hit. I purchased Nokian WR G2 following the reviews of other users and the brand reputation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Before I used Matador brand tyres and I have to admit that I was much more satisfied with them. Nokian behave decently in the fresh air but it is enough for the powdery snow to get slightly compacted and the car still runs during braking. It has also great problems with moving upwards on the compacted snow. I wonder who writes all these positive reviews, where they come from, I have no idea. Also, I would like to point out to the fact that I had to write my review once again as the previous one somehow disappeared. Read more Collapse

Nokian WR G2 was used in Ford Mondeo MKIV. This year, the first heavy snow fell so I can write something about them. By moving out, it can be felt how the tyre bites into snow, by braking there are also no problems, especially as one has to take away the car's weight - 1600 kg. On the icy surface it behaves as any other tyre, so some skills are indispensable and one has to drive reasonably. I wait for more snow in order to test the tyre in the deep snow. I will write my observations after the tests. In general, I recommend Nokian WR G2 which I chose reading the reviews of people who had already bought it. Regards ;-) Read more Collapse

Nokian WR G2 were installed in the size of 195/65/15 in Volvo V70II and as for now they work splendid. Wet snow, on the mud - it is not bad, on the compacted snow where there is ice one can feel skidding if one pushes accelerator too much but one cannot complain. As for such a heavy car one drives in snowy conditions perfectly on the tyres. The car drives on mountain roads (Zieleniec and the neighbourhood) and I can say the tyres performed well (unless the car don't hangs on the chassis :-)). I recommend Nokian WR G2 as well as the shop - eveything progressed fast and without problems. Read more Collapse

Really good tyre! I did not drive on it many miles ( as it is my wife's car) but the impressions from the drive very positive. On the dry surface it holds without obligations. Loudness decent - checked on the A1 motorway. By the sharp braking on the wet ABS reminded about itself at the end of braking but also subtly. On the snow decently without surprises, although I am aware that on the snow narrower tyres perform better. In my car I have Michelin one size smaller and I would not say that thay are much better. I am pleased with the choice. Good ratio of the quality to the price. Read more Collapse

I'm the driver for 31 years, Nokian WR G2 tyre meets my expectations as the tyre for the winter usage. Exploited everyday in the Laguna II estate car on the different surfaces' roads, ranging from the dirt road through the all roads in the cities and routes. Generally, I have no obligations. I can recommend Nokian WR G2 as the tyre for the normally thinking drivers, exploiting their cars normally but not extremely ( I mean here people who think about what they do on the road and do not consider thier skills as the only best - this is directed slightly to the youth). Nokian WR G2 were bought in October so it's high time to rate them. Firstly: You have to drive about 900 miles and balance them once again - shortly after mounting the car they seemed to me loud and 'flouting' especially by braking - after some 900 m everything stopped. I will say shortly - Uniroyal tyres, which I drove on in the summer, are louder than the winter ones. The car drives very safely, to activate the ESP on the snow one has to simply press harder but this is my personal opinion as I am not an idiot behind the wheel - for the one no tyres will be safe. Great tyres! I recently tested them on the snow, mud and ice. On the snow they are the best, as well on the slush. On the ice it was differently - as for the ice rather only tyres with spikes. I drove dynamically on the snowy wildernesses and it was really hard to drive the car into the skidding. Apart from that, Nokian WR G2 are perfect for the wet and the dry asphalt. They saved my life not once. Quiet. I strongly recommend! Before I had Kleber tyres, they were good but these are splendid. Now I know I will never change them for another ones! Only Nokian WR G2! Most routes we cover outside the city, many distances that are snowy and winding. Nokian WR G2 have good pulling strength on the snow, they perform well also in the rain. The only disadvantage is the poor driving in the snowy bends. Despite previous driving gear the car poorly takes the bends, the wheels are twisted and you run forward :(. Previously. I drove several other winter tyres but I did not experience such events. More dynamic moving out from the bends ends with back skidding. Driving the same car on the Debica tyres I did not have any problems. Read more Collapse

I rate Nokian WR G2 very high, it is silent and holds perfectly on the wet and such a winter prevails in our country (despite living in the heart of Karkonosze mountains so the winter here is genuine every year, I think that the behaviour of the winter tyre on the wet is the basis as such roads generally prevail). Very good on the snow, it is the superb tyre in general. I highly recemmend it, although I recommend buying narrower tyres for the winter as those from the 205 up fall in the icy ruts and this is not preferred. Read more Collapse

I am very pleased with Nokian WR G2, they proved perfect in genuinely winter conditions. The only thing I noticed is that all bumps, holes and other unpleasant things on the road are very much felt, whereas the suspension is OK in my car. When it comes to attrition, in my judgement after one season little wear can be seen. The only thing which bothers me is that the tyres become soft and slightly slippery - unpleasant feeling and they make some noise. However, I still think that Nokian WR G2 was a perfect purchase! Nokian WR G2 are the best tyres I ever had, where the other cars had difficulties in driving uphill on the ice - I manouvered on the ice without problems with the 1,5 tone trailer. I did not manage to drive uphill the slope of about 40 degrees on the ice but I almost managed to do so and, most importantly, when the car started to run downhill I did not have any problems with braking. Astounding feedback in all conditions. Will lock up in ice but without the severity of other tyres meaning control is easy to get back. In the dry they feel like they are going to rip your suspension off but as temps go above 10 degC you will detect some 'squirmyness' due to the soft compound and deep tread. Rolling resistance is better than my summer tyres and the comfort on motorways is second to none. In snow I was actually aiming for the snowy patches everyone else was avoiding. Read more Collapse

Previosuly, I drove on Goodyear Ultragrip 6. After the change for Nokian WR G2 - there is a huge difference. They hold in the bends on the snow as in the rails, very quiet. Their advantage is that they are not directional. I drive back to the garage up the 20 degrees' slope and the tyres hold the car as if it was sticked. On the previous ones I drove downhill as if I were on the sledge in spite of braking, praying to fit in the gate. I highly recommend! My summer tyres are also Nokian. Read more Collapse

Very good tyre as befits NOKIAN - the tyre behaves ideally both on the dry and the wet surface. It has only a problem with the slush, besides it is very quiet (after the change from the summer for the winter tyres NOKIAN are quieter). The only drawback which bothers me is the back floating of the car on the motorway above 140 km/h but one can manage this by pumping the tyres up to 2.7! Opinion from outside the UK

I have these tires in the Golf GTI Performance mk7. Completely unsuitable for driving, they took me the whole fun out of winter driving. The point is not that I go quickly - because it is simply not possible with these tires. On the wet and in the morning when the streets are wet they are literally unpredictable. Completely not stick to the road. You never know whether Cie not throw curve. After putting their first trip and almost landed in a ditch in a corner which in the rain on a summer drove calmly approx. 80-100, it drove 60 and a shock - thrown me a curve (also raining). Miraculously mastered auto. 60 km / h is the speed with which overcomes this bend in the VW Polo, 2011 at Kleberach and nothing happens. In the winter when the snow is 1-2 days in a year (Gdynia) and the rest of the time is damp surface is completely unsuitable. The only plus their is such that rather than ride it chose the Polo GTI TDI and I saved on fuel. I would add that the wheels tow even in 4th gear and you can forget about a sharp acceleration. Driving on a dry road surface is quite ok, poor road feedback but at least it will not slip (but slides in the wet longer preferred not to try disclosure limits). Over the two days of snow worked quite well, here I have to admit that wgryzaly better in the snow than Klebery Polo and a million times better than Debica which just had a moment in a foster Micra. In summary, I would not recommend anyone tires. Lada day changing for the summer and next season removes them (drove 4 thous. Km), buys and sells GY Ultragrip perf. Gen I or Conti TS850 or Dunlopy WS 5. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I had a choice of four tyres, Uniroyal 66, Nokia, Dębica Frigo 2, and Sava. The last two dropped out due to lack of stock, and have Uni, Nokia. Nokia Oponiarz ordered on alloy wheels because of the edge protection, agreed. Behavior in winter conditions judge very positively. A trip to the Silver Mountain (20.12.2009r.) Temperature -17 st, and heavy snow. I had no problems starting, braking and maneuvering even in 10cm of snow do not make trouble. My Stilon MW unfortunately not rode uphill for quite a considerable slope in the snow about 10cm, the tyre started to slide, but after checking it was clear that the asphalt is icy. I'm glad they are quiet on the highway at a speed of about 150 km / h you can hear a gentle swish, nothing annoying. Overall, I would recommend, but do not know how to be exercised Uniroyal, I can say with jesstem happy with my purchase. The difference in summer and winter tyres, colossal. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

As with other users feeling of two kinds. 1-in warunach variable winter (snow, rain, slush, wet or dry surface) for good, or at least regularly odsnieżanych roads or city roads, highways (sometimes and such), etc.. tyres excel more than well: some behavior in the corners and under braking, stability. 2-in hilly terrain or on local roads with lots of snow, rarely posypywanych (the province - no offense, I just live :-) worse. In my opinion, low stretch under these conditions, there are lateral slippage. Although it can be to ride you measure the strength of intentions. Almost no signs of tread wear, no mechanical damage, balance wheels once the tyres no problem, no beatings, nawej steering vibration at higher speeds. A little louder than the summer. By about week I started WR2 and summer Dunlopy and clearly could hear the growl Nokianów on the rear axle. No, but it is rather a symptom common in winter tyres. Read more Collapse
