    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are really excellent tyres. I bought them because they perfomed very well in the ADAC tests. I used them in various conditions: fresh deep snow, ice covered with coarse gravel (they don't do actual snow clearing in Slovakia), slush, wet and dry surface. Everytime it had great grip. Some examples: - light frost, foggy, rime frost starting to appear and black ice, I checked the road's slippiness and no problems withnormal braking. During a very sharp one ABS switches on; - very steep (the slope was about 15 - 20%), about 1/4 mile long covered with compact snow, my car went up the hill without any problems, - driving on snow and ice in Slovakia, wide roads sprinkled with tiny stones - you can drive safely at about 60-70km/h, if you don't make any sudden movements then you have full control of the vehicle - driving in slush - all slush gets beautifully drained - driving on water - |I never experienced aquaplaning, all the water gets drained away - dry surface - their grip is just sensational. In addition, after I had these tyres fitted I notied a significant decrease of fuel consumption (my previous tyres were some old Michelin Pilots from 2000. They were ones of the best back then but I can't remember what model exactly it was). Overall, Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are great tyres, snow drifts, deep puddles or mud won't be a problem for a driver who uses these tyres. I absolutely recommend, they're worth the money spent on them. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought these tyres in September 2008, the DOT was the beginning of 2008. For the first two seasons they were doing great. They were fitted to a Golf IV 1.9 TDI 160 HP. The third season was a total disaster, it wasn't possible for them to drive on snow or ice. The distance I did on them was about 9000 miles, tread depth was 7 mm, but the rubber had become so hard, that I was afraid to press the brake pedal on snowy road, not to mention about braking on ice or cornering. I had no choice - I had to buy new tyres. I chose Dunlop SP Winter Response. As for now, I am even more satisfied with them than with the Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 at the beginning. To me, Michelin is only a legend - and a waste of money. Read more Collapse

The tyres grip well in all conditions. Feels like driving on rails, which makes the driving safe and confident even at higher speeds. Previously I have driven on two types of Polish tyres for many winter seasons, but the change to Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 improved driving comfort both on the pavement and in the snow. You have to be careful when braking in the snow with turned wheels, because sometimes they can fall into a lateral skid, but it is probably normal on every tyre. In winterI didn't have any problems on these tyres to pull a Mercedes Vito up the hill - there was no skidding. Overall, Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are very good tyres, very quiet and safe. Opinion from outside the UK

This is the second time I am writing about this tyre - it's sensational! When driving to Austrian Alps I like to step on it - it's a shame to admit it, but when on flat surface it's hard not to floor it to over 130 MPH. Also, I drive quite dynamically in a large city. The tyres are superb, they handle snow-covered roads in a very nice way (the last extremum: minus 25 degrees on New Year's Eve in Slovakia) - the only drawback- rather delicate inner sidewalls - I already had two torn tyres after I drove into a hole or on a curb - unless I had bad luck. Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 tyres are definitely the tyres worth recommending. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are poor tyres, they have lots of disadvantages when compared to my previous Pilot Alpin A2 I used the season before, I'm looking for an alternative now. The main drawbacks: notorious traction loss when accelerating (1st and 2nd gear) - also on dry surface, large lateral slipping on wet and slippery surface and snow - very soft tyre, small driving confidence, the tread on the front axle is already half worn out - I had to change them after 10000 miles. Pros: great driving comfort, acceptable on dry pavement (but what do you need winter tyres for then), good braking, decent fuel consumption. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I finished my Mechanical Engineering studies, I know everything about cars, I know what parts I should buy to make my driving safe. I drive a sports car with increased performance (Seat Leon II), so I wanted to buy good brand tyres for the winter so I wouldn't get myself killed :) because I drive very quickly and aggressively. I did a long distance (about 1400 miles) in the worst possible conditions - fresh snow and then slush. I'm very satisfied because Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 did so well that even ESP didn't switch on. I recommend! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are definitely sensational, like all Michelin tyres. I have a car with automatic transmission, so starting, especially on slippery surface, could have been a bit difficult, but it's the second winter season I've been using these tyres I've never managed to get stuck in snow or have problems with grip. It's difficult to talk about the re-purchase because these tyres have a perfect tread and I'm far from replacing them, but when I have to, I'll get another set of Michelins. Read more Collapse

I definitely recommend, very good handling in straight line. Also very good in corners. Rolling resistance is comparable to summer tyres. No specific hums or higher noise level characteristic for winter tyres. The car is used in a trading company so it met all the wintter conditions and I can say that Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are definitely worth the money spent on them. We have such tyres fitted to a company Ducato, too, and there's no problem with them. I recommend! Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are really sensational. In comparison with the Pirellis or Continentals at this price level they definitely stand out. They're probably the best tyres in their class. Wet, dry, snow or mud - no matter what the conditions are, you feel like you drive on rails. It was difficult for me to make them lose grip. The only drawback is probably the price, but it's worth to spend a more money for a good quality tyre ;) I recommend to everyone! Read more Collapse

Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 are really good tyres, but due to my experience I know that in one car they can be fine and in the other they don't do well (experienced that with my second car), but generally I recommend - they have never surprised me. I definitely recommend buying Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3, they're sensational. It's hard to find their weak sides, the only thing you can complain about is the noise level, howver it doesn't alter the driving comfort, they are simply louder than the summer Michelins. I definitely recommend, it's worth paying a bit more for a well-known brand. Read more Collapse

I never did any comparison tests, but I'm very satisfied with the purchase. The tyres are quiet, driving comfort is high. I was pleasantly surprised by the fuel consumption.
