Roadstone van tyres

A South Korean brand of economy class tyres, producing tyres for passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles. Roadstone was founded in 1958 by Nexen Tire (still part of the company) and is ranked 22nd among the world's largest tyre manufacturers.

Key dates:

1942 – creation of Heung-Ah Tire, which later became Nexen Tire, the founder of Roadstone,
1958 – the Roadstone brand created,
1976 – Roadstone's launches radial tyres,
1986 – Roadstone's first foreign subsidiary established in Thailand,
1992 – Roadstone's first V-shaped tyre makes its debut,
1998 – Roadstone tyres sold in Europe,
2007 – Roadstone’s tyre production is moved to a new factory in Qingdao, China; five years later a new plant was opened in Changnyeong, Korea.

Interesting facts:
In the first three decades, Roadstone was known only in Asia. It was not until the turn of the 1980s and 1990s that its tyres made their debut on other continents, initially in Australia and the Middle East.
Today, Roadstone is present on all six continents – with subsidiaries not only in Europe, Asia and Australia, but also in the Americas (USA, Canada, Brazil and Colombia) and Africa (South Africa).
In Asian countries, Roadstone tyres are original equipment for brands such as Hyundai, Kia and Ssangyong.
