Quiet tyres but fuel consumption is higher that it was for Bridgestones which I had previously. Little bit surprised. However, good tyres for the price from the manufacturer with some reputation.

Product description

Kumho HS51 195/55 R16 87 W ZR

Kumho HS51 is a medium-class tyre that combines balanced performance on any surface with driving comfort and safety in various weather conditions. The model features an excellent value for money ratio and ensures a stable drive in any circumstances.

Its character is specially adapted to the conditions that can be met in Europe in summer. With the use of innovative components, the tyre ensures a shorter braking distance, optimum traction and better grip on wet and dry surfaces.

The tyre uses an asymmetric tread composed of two independent parts, each being responsible for different type of performance, thanks to which, the model is reliable regardless of the weather. Its wide grooves mean that water and slush are efficiently drained from under the crown ply and the tread dries quickly.

Kumho HS51 is made of the HDMS rubber compound which is composed of a high-quality microsilica. The compound is lightweight which helps reduce the weight of the whole structure. As a result, rolling resistance and fuel consumption is reduced.

The solid shoulders and optimised tread pattern ensure an adequate distribution of pressures across the whole surface of the tyre. This guarantees an even wear of the tread which translates into full performance throughout its life, regardless of the degree of wear.

Fuel efficiency (rolling distance)

Fuel efficiency is rated from A to G on a colour-coded scale. The highest fuel efficiency rating is A (green; the lowest rolling resistance), while the lowest fuel efficiency rating is G (red; the highest rolling resistance). Rolling resistance influences fuel consumption and vehicle emissions; the lower the resistance, the lower the fuel consumption and exhaust fume emissions.

Wet grip

Wet grip is the tyre's ability to adhere to the road surface in wet conditions. The EU rating focuses only on the wet braking performance of the tyre. Wet grip is rated from A to G, where A represents the best braking performance and G represents the worst. It is one of the most crucial safety parameters.

Noise

Tyres contribute to the amount of noise a vehicle generates. Choosing a tyre with a good noise rating will lower the impact of your driving on the surrounding environment.
