Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO

I cannot recommend these tyres highly enough. This is the first time I have bought tyres from a so called ‘premium’ brand, and they have proved to be inferior in almost every way. In the season above 7 degrees in city driving, they are very quiet both in the wet and dry. Grip drops dramatically when wet and in hot weather, then I even have to be careful that the tyres don't buck when starting from traffic lights (my beast has 90hp, geometry/alignment checked of course). When out of town, the same as above, except that the noise is already comparable to other mid-range tyres. In the winter season, city driving seems more comfortable, in the period without snow or icy roads (with icy roads, the best tyre will not help much). When the road was snow-covered, driving turned into a fight for life (on a premium annual tyre), especially when the plough had not passed for a long time. With a snow-covered road with extra caution, you can drive. However, the quick wear is the last straw. After 18,000 km, I'm back on Oponeo looking for new tyres, dreading the next winter because the ones on the front axle already need replacing. In summary: If you like an adrenaline rush, especially in difficult weather conditions, and even additionally enjoy talking to a tyre changer and would like to see him more often, it is still better to choose other tyres for the safety of bystanders. Superbly designed and manufactured tyres that perform in all weather conditions. No weather can take them by surprise. Perfectly equipped for snow, dry and wet conditions. The tyres are quiet and the deep tread cleans itself quickly. I did not notice any increase in fuel consumption after fitting. They work outstandingly well with the quattro drive, and on every corner the driver is sure that the car is sticking to the road. Behind the high price of these tyres is quality and safety, so for me it's a hit, because that's what I was looking for. In my opinion, when opting for all-season tyres it's not worth looking to save money by choosing cheaper options. As far as the competition is concerned, I have also considered the Michelin CrossClimate 2, the Pirelli AllSeason or the Vredestein Quatrac Pro. Rather, they would have performed equally well, but in the end I chose Bridgestone. I should add that many people liked these tyres and asked me about these particular units. The scoring relates to the initial use of these tyres. Indeed, immediately after purchase they were great tyres. The first winter - sensational. The second - definitely worse. One year and 8 months have passed, end of summer.... Front: 2 mm of tread left, rear: about 4-5 mm Car: 5th generation Toyota RAV4 with four-wheel drive. For comparison, the TOYO summer tyres I had from the showroom covered similar number of kilometres, also used in winter (I didn't make the change to winter tyres - I know, stupid) and for a similar length of time: front 5 mm of tread rear: 6-7 mm. I'm changing the Bridgestones back to TOYO this week because it's no longer safe to drive. You can clearly feel how the front ‘wobbles’ when you drive over, even on the painted white stripes on the road. The gentleman at the periodic inspection: "This is probably their last season? These are excellent year round tyres for the UK. Snow performance is excellent - tested last weekend up and down the steep road to my house with 4 inches plus of virgin snow where no other cars had attempted to and didn’t miss a beat - certainly a big step up in wet and snow compared to standard summer tyres on the Freelander. Also have these on my E Class convertible and although not used on snow, excellent wet weather performance and good in the dry - unless you drive hard in which case a pure summer tyre would be preferred in dry and warm conditions. Good quality. I strongly advise against this tyre in the summer, but definitely not in the winter. Poor grip, traction is lost every now and then. The quality of the tyre is hopeless and I would not recommend it. After 15 months of use, the tyres have to be replaced. Poor tread and sidewall deformations. Read more Collapse

The tyres perform superbly in the summer. Also ok in the winter on snow. Problems start on ice where winter tyres are definitely better. For me the tyres are worth the price. Great convenience of not having to change tyres every season with the ever-increasing working hours. Read more Collapse

Tyre very good in all weathers at normal driving style. Travel a lot on the continent in all weathers so needed a 3Peak tyre. Obviously not as good in summer than summer tyre but more than adequate. Tyre pressures need adjusting depending on loads. Overall recommended. Read more Collapse

For everyday use it will do fine, on snow up a slight hill it does not cope. On no other tyre, not even the worst winter tyre, did I have such problems after a fresh snowfall. I practically feel like I'm driving on summer tyres. A total disappointment. Read more Collapse

Very good all round tyres. Decent in the dry (will wear noticeably faster with faster driving in hot weather) However, excel in cold weather, cold roads and wet roads. Snow performance is also exceptional for all seasons (on a FWD at least) Read more Collapse

I rode the tyres for a while. I wouldn't buy them again. What's for everything is for nothing. Better to invest in two sets of summer and winter. They are strongly average in terms of grip, noisy and not very puncture resistant. Read more Collapse
