The presented tyre is marked with 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake). It means that the tyre meets the EU requirements for winter tyres. The symbol is awarded after thorough tests of a tyre model in terms of snow grip.
Blizzak WS 80 is the latest and the most advanced model of winter tyres intended for passenger cars. This new proposal by Bridgestone is enriched with certain improvements already at the level of its rubber compound. With this, the tyre does not lose its flexibility, even at extremely low temperatures and this translates into an increased comfort of driving.
The structure is optimised in such a way that the tyre optimally sticks to the road while driving and adapts to the dynamics and the current type of surface. This ensures an even wear and excellent performance throughout the model’s life.
Blizzak WS 80 is supplied by the engineers with small protruding sticks that are to act as needles - they stick into a snowy and icy surface, which allows for even safer driving in winter conditions. The combination of the micro-sticks with the modern tread pattern and wide notches, ensures excellent traction control in winter conditions.
The layout of grooves and sipes is designed in such a way to efficiently drain water and slush from under the crown ply, which reduces the risk of aquaplaning. Compared to the previous model (Blizzak WS70), the side section of the tyre is strong enough so that the vehicle will not skid when braking hard.
