Toyota Avensis

The Toyota Avensis is a mid-size vehicle produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation since 1997. As the direct successor to the Carina E, the Avensis has been offered in saloon, estate, and liftback body styles. Over more than a decade of production, the model has evolved through three generations, each becoming more spacious and technologically advanced. The first generation was among the initial vehicles manufactured at Toyota’s Burnaston plant in the UK. Despite its age, it remains a popular choice on the used car market, as evidenced by the wide availability of replacement rims and tyres. The Toyota Avensis T22 still enjoys a loyal following among enthusiasts.

The second generation debuted in 2003 and received a facelift in 2006. This version featured a more refined and modern design, with a sleeker body and improved aerodynamics. The front end, characterized by sharply angled headlights, bears a resemblance to newer Lexus models. Slightly larger than its predecessor, the Toyota Avensis T25 also introduced different tyre sizes depending on the body style, enhancing both performance and comfort.

In 2012, the Avensis underwent another facelift, which included a redesigned front grille and sharper, more aggressive headlights. The side profile was updated with a more defined crease line. One of the standout features that remained unchanged was the excellent chassis, which provides precise handling at higher speeds while maintaining a high level of ride comfort. Tyres play a crucial role in this balance. The Toyota Avensis T27 typically uses 195/65 R15 tyres, which ensure optimal pressure distribution and stability for the vehicle’s weight.

While the dashboard design remained somewhat conservative, the introduction of the Toyota Touch & Go multimedia system with a touchscreen display marked a significant technological upgrade. Under the hood, the Avensis is equipped with advanced petrol engines featuring VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) and durable D-4D diesel engines, known for their reliability and efficiency.

Factory tyre sizes for the Toyota Avensis include: 185/65 R14, 195/60 R15, 205/55 R16, 205/65 R15, and 205/60 R16.
Optional tyre sizes include 225/40 R18 and 225/45 R18 for enhanced performance and aesthetics.
