In 2003, the sporty Fabia RS was introduced, powered by a 1.9 TDI engine producing 130 HP and equipped with wider tyres. A facelift in 2004 brought updated headlamp covers, redesigned air intake grilles, and a refreshed front bumper.
Due to strong market demand, the second generation of the Škoda Fabia was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007. This time, the saloon version was dropped due to low popularity. The model was offered as a hatchback, estate, and in the off-road-inspired Scout and sporty RS variants. In the same year, the eco-friendly Fabia GreenLine was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show, featuring a 1.4 TDI engine with 79 HP and reduced CO2 emissions. A later facelift brought wider headlights, a redesigned front grille, and a new engine lineup.
The third generation of the Škoda Fabia was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2014. It shares its platform with the Škoda Rapid, Audi A3, SEAT Leon, and VW Polo. Standard equipment includes ABS, ESP, MSR, six airbags, an electronic differential lock (XDS), power steering, a height- and reach-adjustable steering column, central locking, electric front windows, and heated electric mirrors. Available in hatchback and estate versions, the Fabia also has special rally editions like the Fabia WRC and S2000, which compete in motorsport events.
