Dacia Logan

The Dacia Logan is a compact car produced by the Romanian manufacturer Dacia, a subsidiary of the Renault Group. It shares its platform with the Renault Thalia and is built on the same chassis as the Renault Clio. Designed as an affordable option for budget-conscious buyers, the Logan offers the practicality of a new car with a spacious boot at a competitive price point.

The Logan features a traditional three-box sedan design with clean, sharp lines. While its styling may appear dated compared to modern standards, it emphasizes functionality over flair. Inside, the cabin reflects its budget-friendly nature. The materials used are average in quality, but the plastic components are well-assembled and free from creaks, contributing to a solid feel.

Rear-seat passengers may find legroom somewhat limited, but the Logan compensates with a generous boot capacity of 510 litres. This space can be expanded further by folding down the rear seats, making it a practical choice for families or those needing extra cargo room.

One of the Logan’s standout features is its suspension system, which performs admirably on rough roads. It uses a simple yet effective setup with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. While not technologically advanced, this configuration offers a comfortable ride and keeps maintenance costs low.

In Euro NCAP crash tests, the Dacia Logan received a rating of three stars, reflecting an average level of safety. A minor facelift in 2008 introduced subtle updates to both the exterior and interior design, enhancing its overall appeal. In addition to the sedan, a more spacious estate version known as the Logan MCV is also available.

The standard tyre size for the Dacia Logan is 185/65 R15. Alternatively, 185/70 R14 tyres can also be fitted as an option.
