Very impressed with the Sottozero 3, having used Nokian and Verdestein winters I was a little wary of moving to pirelli but these were a great price and had good reviews. Wasn't sure how effective they would be on a 245 18 as my previous vehicles have had a far narrower 16 inch wheel. Got caught out on a very steep hill after a heavy snow shower one evening. The tyre bit through and would only slip on excessive throttle. No other 2WD vehicles made it up the hill. Very quiet on the motorway and no noticeable difference with the MPG. Excellent in the dry, had better in the wet but certainly no real issues. Would highly recommend if you can get them at the right price. Can't comment on wear yet but certainly doesn't seem excessive.

We tested the pirelli winter tyres on our various cars. In three cars, tyre bubbles popped out – that's for replacement!! In one car, the bubble appeared on the tyre bought in exchange for a damaged same tyre. I am happy with the expected lifetime of tyres in one car our of 6 tyres that I've bought for winter. The tyres aren't outstanding. Rather loud
