Matador is Slovakian brand being about for donkey years. They were producing good quality tyres all the time but focusing mainly on Eastern Europe market and Russia. They are owned by Continental for quite a few years now and since their products becomes exported to whole Europe. Slovakia is a largest manufacturer of cars per citizen in Europe producing makes like VW, Peugeot, Porsche, Skoda and Kia. Most of these will leave factories with Matador tyres on. Exactly same apply to Barum which is Czech brand. You can't go wrong with any of them.
