I previously had Barums and compared to Ultra Grip 8 - totally different world. Goodyear sits confidently on the road. I have them for a week now, but we had so much different weather conditions lately that I really had a chance to test them both in the wet and on dry, on fresh snow, slush and ice. I would need studs for the ice but in all the other conditions - worth recommending. Still, whatever tyre you have you still have to use common sense when driving in Winter.

I would recommend this tyre without a shadow of doubt. The Goodyear Ultra Grip 8 works really well on both dry and wet. Much to my surprise it even handles reasonably well in slush, or when driving through a deep puddle. Once again, this is definitely to be recommended, it is really worth the price. For me, they are quiet too, even though they are Winter tyres.
