The car I have Goodyear EfficientGrip tyres fitted to is a heavy vehicle with front wheel drive and a Diesel engine. The previous tyres I had were factory-fitted Pirelli P7. I think that compared to Goodyear, Pirelli tyres were harder and the car was stiffer. Now the front end of the car seems to sway at higher speeds. I use the same route when I go to work, so I can see the difference. Their great advantage is braking distance. The car stops almost on the spot. Previously, ABS was switching on during every sudden braking. Also, the fact is that my old tyres were already worn out. I got persuaded to buy Goodyear EfficientGrip tyres by reading reviews of other users and the manufacturer – low rolling resistance, noise level, influence on fuel consumption etc. As I see it now, everything was just a marketing trick, at least that’s my subjective opinion. Now I would go for some cheaper tyres. Pirelli did 45 thousand miles. We shall see what the mileage of Goodyear EfficientGrip will be.
