The tyre is a superb performer in winter, great on dry and wet surfaces, but there are some asphalt where it can be dangerous, almost like on ice, but I do not think that this is the fault of the tyre but the consistency of the asphalt. It wears out faster than summer rubber, but the tyre's grip on the snow makes up for it, in the winter on roads with frozen asphalt and a little ice, and on top of that fresh snow and an uphill road the tyre loses its grip, in which case a winter tyre would be useful, but overall I drive everywhere and I have never been disappointed and there has never been a situation where I had to put chains on.
