The Continental TKC 80² is the long-awaited successor to the legendary off-road/on-road motorcycle tyre from the German premium manufacturer. Compared to its highly regarded predecessor, it offers even more confident handling on various road surfaces, in both dry and wet conditions. This is primarily thanks to the new RainGrip rubber compound, which ensures a shorter braking distance as well as greater stability when cornering.
The tyre tread has also undergone significant modernisation. The new tread pattern, featuring aligned gripping edges and optimised spacing, offers more predictable handling across varied terrain, ensuring a comfortable ride both off-road and on asphalt. The 17% increase in tread contact area further improves stability at high speeds and results in better load distribution. The revised position of the shoulder blocks compared to the original design improves stability on soft surfaces, reducing the risk of the tyre digging in when riding fast over loose ground.
The tyre is designed for mixed riding (50% road, 50% off-road), delivering confidence and comfort regardless of the challenges the route presents.
RainGrip Compound
A rubber compound developed by the German company Continental for use in modern motorcycle tyres. It has been optimised to maintain high grip on wet surfaces. This is thanks to a special formulation containing active polymers, which help to reduce braking distances and maintain adequate stability when cornering in wet conditions.
