The tread width of the 245/75 R15 tyre is provided in millimetres by the first of those numbers (here the tread is 245 mm wide). The second number equals the percentage ratio between the tyre's height and its tread width. In this case it is 75% out of 245 mm. The "R" in the tyre's size denotes its radial construction.
