Good tyre but has developed an annoying droning sound which led me to believe my bearings were bad. Unfortunate as it was probably the fault of the suspension as it was badly worn and did the near new tyres no favours.

Tire very predictable. On fast curves are kept as bonded no matter wet or dry surfaces. When braking from high speed is really stable. The tire does well with aquaplaning and is really comfortable for such a size 225/45/17. Unfortunately, here the end of the pluses. It's a little loud, but not loud seen quieter, but also a lot louder especially Bridgestone. The next thing is attrition by 4 months 2 mm tires went 7000 km. No protective bead on the rim.

Product description

Nokian zLine 225/45 R17 94 Y XL

The Nokian zLine has been specially designed for sporty vehicles. This model offers outstanding performance at high speeds. Thanks to its special design, the tyre is suited to summer conditions in Central Europe. Its distinguishing features are: outstanding safety on wet surfaces, dynamic driving accuracy and low noise levels.

The Nokian zLine's special diagonal-groove technology guarantees effective protection against loss of grip on wet surfaces (aquaplaning). This safety barrier is reinforced by the wide circumferential grooves along the tyre's longitudinal ribs. These remove the majority of water from under the tyre. The tyre is made from an intelligent UHP Silica compound, which is perfectly suited to intensive use at high speeds. This also means that the tyre behaves in a predictable way in all road conditions. The bottom layer of this rubber compound is noted for its particular rigidity, which effectively reduces rolling resistance and heat levels generated by the tyre. Reduced heat generation extends the tyre's lifetime, while the low rolling resistance results in lower fuel combustion and reduced harmful emissions.

Nokian

Nokian started production in 1925 with the manufacture of bicycle tyres only. The Finnish company's first tyre was released in 1932. In 1936 the company created the Nokian Hakkapeliitta, which remains one of the company's standard products to this day. The Finnish company's tyres have always been noted for their excellent performance in winter conditions. The company has also achieved the same quality levels with its summer tyres. Thanks to a large expansion in the number of products made by the Finnish brand, Nokian tyres are now produced not only in Finland but also in Russia, the USA and Slovakia.

Label

The Nokian zLine tyre in size 225/45 R17 94 Y, according to the manufacturer's information, has the following drivability qualities:

  • C
  • A
  • 72 dB
C A 72 dB

Fuel efficiency (rolling distance)

Fuel efficiency is rated from A to G on a colour-coded scale. The highest fuel efficiency rating is A (green; the lowest rolling resistance), while the lowest fuel efficiency rating is G (red; the highest rolling resistance). Rolling resistance influences fuel consumption and vehicle emissions; the lower the resistance, the lower the fuel consumption and exhaust fume emissions.

Wet grip

Wet grip is the tyre's ability to adhere to the road surface in wet conditions. The EU rating focuses only on the wet braking performance of the tyre. Wet grip is rated from A to G, where A represents the best braking performance and G represents the worst. It is one of the most crucial safety parameters.

Noise

Tyres contribute to the amount of noise a vehicle generates. Choosing a tyre with a good noise rating will lower the impact of your driving on the surrounding environment.
