Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117

Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117 tyres have a really good traction on both dry and wet surface. I would say that they are even better than equivalent Michelin tyres, which are considered to be the best. Generally speaking these are great tyres dedicated especially to small and light cars I guess. All in all I think it would not be a problem to mount them on a heavier RWD vehicle. My brother has Hankook tyres in his car and he is very satisfied with the quality. Over time I changed them for Michelin tyres and I must say I do not feel a significant difference. I had Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres with the width 335 previously mounted on my car. They were good only in temperatures above 25 degrees C. Below this temperature they were slippery. Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117 are definitely better. The grip is perfect in temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees C. In lower temperatures it is better to have winter or all-season tyres. If you have a powerful car, the tyres should be rather soft as soft compound tyres stick to the road much better than standard rubber compound products. I wanted to mount new tyres on my vehicle before I go on my holidays. I was looking for some Toyo or Vredestein tyres. However I chose Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117. When I compared them with Fuldas (I bought my car with Fulda tyres, which had 6mm tread depth), I was really impressed. These two are as different as chalk and cheese. Hankook Ventus S-1 Evo2 K-117 tyres are very silent, they have a good grip. Until now I have not noticed an aquaplanning phenomenon. The car is very stable at high speed (over 130 mph). I would have no hesitation is recommending these tyred. The only issue I can see is the sidewalls are prone to damage if you touch a kerb when parking. But that is also likely to be part of the reason they are compliant over road imperfections round town. They are wearing well i have noticed the rears are wearing faster in the middle despite being at Jaguar recommended pressures though the difference is only 1mm when compared the outer and inner sections of tread. Awesome driving characteristics both on dry and wet surface. The car drives well. It is stable in sharp corners and on the straight line. I have a feeling of safety and I know that I am in control of my vehicle. This is already my second set of tyres from Hankook and they have never let me down. Excellent tyres. The grip is excellent in all conditions. The way the tyre handles water is very good, and on hot summer days the tyre has a system for dissipating heat from the interior. The tyres are a bit harder in terms of fuel consumption, but this is a big advantage: better grip because they are soft; the main disadvantage is that they wear faster. I had Hancook tyres fitted on a ford transit that I bought from ford new and they were amazing tyres so when my car needed a full set of tyres I went straight for Hancook. I've not been far enough to rate fuel economy and things like that but at the end of the day I'm not looking at that. After the first miles I was really surprised how big is the difference. All 4 tyres changed. And with these much better car handling, very smooth and quiet running. I don't know now about the durability I didn't used so long. But I had Hankook tyres before and was very good for long time. So not worried at all. All I can say satisfied & recommended these tyres. Hi I am an Aosta taxi driver I tried these tyres and was amazed. They have over 30,000 km under their belt. And I still have at least 4/5000 km before replacing them. Unbalanced on quality they could cost a lot more x what they offer. Dry or wet they feel great. Noise is a little high the first few kilometres. Then they become perfect. Highly recommended. These Hankooks are the best runflats I've experienced so far to date, great on country roads they make driving my M Sport more pleasurable, have had Bridgestones, Pirellis and Michellin tyres on in the past but these Hankooks are far superior and good value for the money, also no more tramlining like you get with some of the others. This review is based on my driving behavior. Moderate to sporty driving. These tires have excellent grip on dry and very good wet grip. Tire wear is average. BUT, they are already half worn at 8k miles. Be lucky if these last to 15k miles. Not what I expected from Hankook.. Use Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 and they lasted 26k miles on the front on the same car with 18 inch wheels.. Read more Collapse
