    Opinion from outside the UK

The purchase of Falken HS 439s was purely accidental - if it wasn't for the promotion in the shop, my review would be even more negative. They are OK for light winter conditions (clear roads and a bit of slush). I drove for two seasons on them and to be honest, vehicle behavior in the snow was similar to that on summer Goodyears. The tyre is completely unsuitable for fast routes with a snow layer. While starting can be omitted in my assessment, because it depends on the car's power and drive type, the grip in the corners and brking on these tyres can be surprising (either you manage to stop or you fail to do so). It is totally unpredictable, especially in snow-covered corners and in emergency situations on the road (quick avoiding). ESP had to assist the driving almost all the time. The fact is that the Audi A4 B7 diesel without quattro drive has a lot much understeer but on Fulda Kristall Monteros I never experienced such problems like on Falkens. With a price similar to Goodyear Ultragrip's, its purchase would be "suicide". When it comes to abrasion, I can confirm it's really durable. After two years and more than 45 thousand miles there's almost no wear off, however the tyre has practically no winter tread since its release from the factory. This is a typical tyre for water and rain, but it's completely unsuitable for real winter conditions. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Driveability of Falken HS 439s is fine, a little bit too weak when starting in snow. On ice it behaves like every other tyre - there's no tyre that can go on ice without spikes. You have to be careful in snowy corners, but on wet it's good. I didn't test it at speeds higher than 75 MPH - as for now I am driving in the city only. The biggest problem turned out to be fitting these tyres to wheels - the tyre is very hard and has a low profile, normally it's not strange but the service worker had a hard time putting them onto the wheels (it got fitted only after lubricating it with a large amount of grease and pumping up the pressure to 5) As for me, it shouldn't be like that - and that's the reason why I won't buy them again. When it comes to driving in winter conditions - this is OK and that was the plan. Also, maybe the wheels - (alloy Dotz) weren't perfect, but in the workshop they said that they have fitted lots of tyres to such wheels and had no problems, I can believe it as I had Goodyear tyres fitted to the same wheels and had no problems. If I were to buy tyres now, I'd do it in the workshop where they are fitted at once - if there are problems, I can take different ones, as it's easier to make a complaint on the spot than send the tyres back with the use of a courier. I would like to say that my engine is 1.8 but I got it chiped and now the power is much higher than in the original engine. I bought Falkens on Oponeo.co.uk. During the first week after fitting them I have made about 1000 miles. It was decembere and it was pretty snowy. These tyres behave properly on dry road surface. On dry road I don't feel any difference between Goodyear Exellence and Falkens HS439. Very good grip on snow - confident braking. The 1000 miles distance does not allow me to judge the attriction. Design just splendid.since now I was driving on Contiwinters and Ultra grips and falkens are very comparable to these high-class tyres. recommend. Read more Collapse

I have a SUV 4x4. I bought them because I heard a lot of good reviews about these tyres. They are produced in Romania, Turkey etc but I decided to buy Japaneese Falkens according to all those positive reviews. I didn't expect too much but they supriised me positively. Falken HS439 is a fantastic tyre under any circumstances. Veeeery comfortable (uncomparable to Michelins which did not provide me with such excellent comfort). very silent. You have to drive about 200 miles to rub the first silicon surface off. Splendid product. I became a huge fan of that brand. Recommend Read more Collapse

Imo one of the best winter tyres. Very good behavior on snow. After 2500 miles (1 winter season) I have to say that the tyre is almost new. I was driving on dry and wet surface. I can compare them to Pirelli SnowSport and Michelin (I dont remember the model) and I have to say that Falkens are the best. Behavior on snow is almost the same but when it comes to driving on dry road they are way better than all the high class tyres. I feel very safe driving on them. I drive where I want to drive and I have no problems with that. Recommend Read more Collapse

Positive reviews about these Falkens unfortunately go me tempt to buy them. I bought these tyres before winter. Everything was ok when there was no snow and the roads were dry.In the middle of january the snow felt down and these tyres showed me their weakness. Imo these tyres are not prepared for snowy winter. Just thanks to the EPS system I could drive somehow. The car sliped on straight road. There was a lot of problems while moving-off. Tyres behaved like summer ones. Honestly I dont recommend them. Read more Collapse

I bought Falkens HS439 to fit them in my wifes car (Micra). A small, not powerfull car so it is hard for me to say how would they act in a more powerfull car. I bought them accidentaly from my friend. there were not a lot reviews and the price was very fine. Now I can say that it was a perfect purchase. For such price just brilliant. I drove a lot of miles in different cars and on different tyres. I bought for my car Nokians and for now Falkens HS439 are not much worse but they are much cheaper. Read more Collapse

I bought them in a hurry because I damaged 2 of my Nokians WRG2 and I have to say that I am shocked. They grip same good as Nokians, just perfect. I paid about 40Gbp/ ea tyre and I have to say that Falkens HS439 are even better than the high class tyres. I drive with two cars simultaneously - Kangoo on Daytons and Getz on barums and I have to say that they have no grip at all. After work when I get into my car on Falkens I feel like in heaven. I recommend Falkens with a clear conscience. Read more Collapse

I drove on these tyres whole winter in different conditions (cities, mountains etc). I am very pleased with them. I had almost no problem with them. The only problem was when the road was covered with ice it was imposible to not slip. But on ice only spikes work well. In the mountains no problem at all. I didnt use chains even once. During winter I made about 5000 miles and I dont see any visible signs of usage. in general I am very satisfied and I would recommend! Read more Collapse

Tyres are just bull's eye. They look pretty solid and the rubber is very good looking- like a high class tyre. Besides the low profile, driving in winter conditions is not hard at all. You hae to realy hard work to make the car to loose the handling and skid. I dont see any difference between high class tyre and that tyre. Very silent and well made. it stresses my cars character perfectly. I recommend them. Tyres worth their price 4 sho. Read more Collapse

I dont have much of experience- this is my first winter after I got my driving licence. These tyres did not disappoint me at all. There was not a lot of snow, But when it appeared i tested my car on road covered with snow. Tyres were just perfect. It is not easy to make them slip but when it happens it is very easy to come-out of it easily. My car was moving off very good even on the snow. These tyres are perfect for an RWD cars. I bought 2 pcs just to test them and I will buy next 2 in the nearest future as well. I went to Polish mountains. Snow everywhere. During day wet snow and in the night frozen snow. I have Falkens on the front axis and fulda montenero on my back. the result is that the front is driving without problems and the rear slips dramatically. I advise you to buy Falkens if you like to drive safe and comfortable. My car is Peugeot 207. Read more Collapse

Fully satisfied with Falkens HS439. I drive in a dynamic way and Falkens behaved very well even in the most dangerous situations. they grip to the road very well and the braking is not an issue for them at all. They are safe and comfortable. Moving off very confident without skids and slips. No matter hwo sharp the corner angle is. These tyres are worth my recommendation because of the technical, visual and price properties. Read more Collapse

In that price you cannot buy any better tyre. I checked a lot of tyres before I bought them to my SUV- Grand Vitara 2010 and this tyre attracted me pretty much. I drove whole winter until now - March 2012. During the winter I was in French Alps. I have to say that I did not notice any problems with them. It is obvious that braking on ice is very hard but the combination of Falkens HS439 and y ABS system is just brilliant. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

The road performance ok, Falken HS 439 does not behave well in starting with the snow. The ice as ice - does not leave us without words. With snow chains on snow have to be careful. The wet-OK. I have not tested at speeds above 120 km / h - for now just driving around town. The biggest problem so far is been shown to mount the tires on rims and tires very hard - the profile is very low so it does not seem strange, but during installation you have tried a lot to put the tire on the rim (is entered only after having lubricated well and increased to more than 5) As far as I'm concerned, it should not be so - so, not for the road comportamneto not buy you a second time. As for winter driving - is OK and because the purpose was this. Maybe even the alloy wheels - (Dotz) have had the problem even if the tire dealer told me he has already mounted on the kind of circle so many times of different tires and have never had problems - I can not believe it-on same circle-on the same model we fitted the Goodyear and it was normal. If you buy should buy in the shop, where one goes immediately on the rim - if there are problems we can immediately take other tire-it is easier to make the claim directly from the tire and through the courier. Opinion from outside the UK

In my opinion, one of the best winter tires in terms of the behavior on the road, without snow, said while the snow is excellent. When I on tires 5000 km. drove in the winter season on wet and dry roads, I've found that is virtually impossible to consume. I have a comparison with the Snowsport Pirelli and Michelin (can not remember the model) made and I can certainly recommend Hawks as the better tires. Comparable performance on snow, but on dry and wet conditions is best between expensive branded goods. With these tires I drive in winter 100% safe. I Drive, where I want to and do not be afraid to curves, etc. Once I abnutze summer tires (Uniroyal RainSport2), I buy certainly Hawks for the summer a friend goes with these tires already third year (summer + winter), drives certainly 2 years, because these tires are not much worn. In summary, better tires so cheap price you will not find. I recommend. Read more Collapse

I just want to emphasize that the capacity of only 1.8, but by far bought much more power than the original :) tires on this website. Within a week I'm a little more than 2,000 km on this tire. In Danzig was snowing and raining in the meantime already .. In dry conditions, the tire behaves correctly. On the wet feel no difference from summer tires Goodyear Excellence. When driving on snow and slush very good grip - driving in the right direction - good brakes. After 2000 km there is not possible to evaluate this parameter. When it comes to the look, I like these tires, but this is the matter of taste :) So far I had in winter ContiWinterContact TS810 Continental and Goodyear Ultra Grip 7, and despite the fact that there are good brands, I think that falcon does not depart from them! Welcome. On these two winter tires I drove, I live in London so that was driven route to Polish and back to the trip in the Polish mountains alps in winter and skiing in Livigno. After Mazury land of 1000 km per year on average. So far, I drove about 17000 km. I will say this tire good, decent stick to the road slush very ok, kopny snow satisfactorily-time I had to wear chains in the Alps but it's normal. my driving style on the average estimate pollination is not as stupid on the highway in the winter but the 130-140 can ride on them as compacted snow is fired up to 100km. Check with Parking in without a problem. Personally, I can not recommend Clincher. Earlier mialme black Fulda and was also ok, but what surprised me is a small fuel tank! I think that even leisurely two winters on them posmigam. Read more Collapse

Winters almost was not (the two weeks of snow too count). I drove the distance on the tires too small because only 3.000 km. For dry and wet behaves very well in slush also correctly, the deeper the snow could be a bit better. Appearance is OK cichutka, soft and great dampens bumps - by kapciarza balance without any problem, and the question of what he thought about the tires said "cheap tire, but it has one advantage - made in Japan so it will be reliable." Tires used for weighing 1.600 kg van, a van ride as it quite calmly. As for me, tire worth the money and if you will continue to see it on my car. Read more Collapse

On dry flawless, same on the wet asphalt. As compared with Pirelli Sotto Zero, under such conditions there was no fault anything. Sudden braking or fast bypassing obstacles always without a problem. The snow and slush, unfortunately, clearly worse. Fresh snow on the wet I happened to have a problem with you emerge from a small recess and nearly ended up sliding into a ditch. Snow level road gave cope, but they placed the 180 horses a bit too high expectations - TCS solve this problem easily. Durable tires for two seasons (about 20 tkm) and probably withstand two more if they were not stolen. Read more Collapse

Yes only once had a problem that has occurred, and only once, it was the ice but ice are good only spikes. Whether dry, the snow and slush, the tires are very good on any road. No problem in the mountains, I have no chain used, although the others (not all, of course) under the same conditions, needed the chains. Tires course in order! Look well made and rubber gives the impression of a higher class. Despite the low profile, I had no difficulty in driving in winter conditions. You have to give a lot of effort to get the tires off the road. When it comes to driving on dry roads, I do not see any differences in the behavior of summer tires in the same class. For wet and dry handling and braking asphalt flawless at all speeds. Snow compared to previous Pirelli Sotto Zero lot worse. Serious problems occurred on a small slope with you emerge - wet, packed snow, heavy car. Handling and braking on snow (with the help of ASR) did not cause problems, but again, Pirelli were clearly better. Noise as winter tires - a clear but not annoying. Durability - drove two seasons, would give advice even one or two no problem, if they were not stolen. Read more Collapse

The tire is not suitable for snow and ice, quite good for wet and good for dry weather. If someone goes in it does not make sense to buy because they will have trouble moving off and braking on snow, on the way knows only go straight and with a hand on his shoulder (in terms of snow). As for driving on wet and dry is wmiarę about noise practically non-existent, very stable at high speeds, low rolling resistance. Read more Collapse
