Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme

3PMSF The presented tyre is marked with 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake). It means that the tyre meets the EU requirements for winter tyres. The symbol is awarded after thorough tests of a tyre model in terms of snow grip.

Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is a winter tyre of the premium class. Designing this tyre, the producers also took care of the stylistic qualities. The well-known, Italian designer Giugiaro’s workshop patented a unique tread’ pattern for this tyre. Vredestein company is the tyre’s producer. The tyre splendidly tolerates low temperatures. It guarantees driving precision, perfect grip and high safety level in harsh, winter conditions.

The tread of Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme tyre is composed of the special, technologically advanced compound with the silica addition. Silica compound causes that the tyre maintains flexibility despite low temperature. Additionally, silica improves grip and shortens the braking distance significantly. Rolling resistance is reduced which contributes to reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emission. Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme tyre was designed on the basis of Wintrac Xtreme’ tread. This time, the Vredestein label’ contructors also applied innovative solutions. The tyre’s tread is made with the great care of the aesthetics. Its’ exceptionally aggressive line the tyre owes to the Giugiaro Design Italian studio. In order to guarantee high comfort’ level, the tread was optimized with the use of modern computer programs. The diversified size of the tread’ blocks ensure reduction of unnecessary vibes. In this way, regular pressure’ transfer was obtained. Quietness and comfort are only few of the many features of Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme tyre. The tyre possesses the directional tread pattern and three wide, peripheral grooves which successfully drain off the water and slush from the tyre’s point of contact with the surface. This is also the protection against hydroplaning. Briefly speaking, the constructors took care of the safety on the wet road. The directional tread of the Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme tyre has a random ‘W’ pattern. The blocks’ edges are sharp and ensure good behaviour during driving on the snowy and unpaved road. Self-cleaning is one of the additional functions the tread performs. The lateral walls were also modified. The designers improved the lateral wall construction. Hardened edges and additional, stiff belting ensure good, safe driving even in the most difficult conditions.

Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is a tyre designed for the big passenger cars of the high class. It is especially recommended for the SUV-type cars and limousines.

    Opinion from outside the UK

Vredestein Wintrac 4Xtreme are awesome! I bought them after being persuaded by my friend who is a fitter, I hesitated because they're not cheap. On my car, the BMW X5, they do great, after the first wave of snowfalls I can say that it is superb, on the snow it's sensational!, in the terrain and in mud it's very cool, on motorways it's quiet and provides great grip in the wet,on water it's like on dry. Overall I'm very satisfied with it, when it comes to abrasion - I can't assess it, I did only 5 thousand miles on it, but I am very pleased. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I have these tyres for the second season on my C5. Frankly speaking, Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is a very decent tyre, but manufactured "in a rush". The balancing on the same rims where summer tyres were fitted is a real hassle. One of the tyres notoriously exceeds the limit of 100 g. Other ones range from 25 to 45/50 g. On the same wheels the summer tyres have 5-15 grams. The tyres are clearly unevenly layered. After this season, I'm going to say goodbye to them and buy another pair of Michelins. Read more Collapse

Had these tyres on winter alloys for my Mitsubishi Outlander and they were excellent in snow. These are even better on 18" winter alloys on my Mitsubishi Shogun LWB SG4 (2014). Breaking and acceleration is even better, probably in part due to increased tyre width compared to the 215's I had on the Outlander. Fuel economy wasn't affected with these on and traction in wet or mud was very good and after doing 3500 miles, no noticeable wear, Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme are quite nice-looking tyres. My subjective assessments are very positive. I don't use my car in terrain, and in the city and on route the tyres are really fine. I bought them in December for 80 pounds per tyre and this is a really good price. They will probably be more expensive next season - they are top-class brand in Western countries, and here the company just makes its entrance to the market. Read more Collapse

I have heard good reviews for Vredestein tyres so I decided to give them a try. Put them on for the winter and they gave good performance, car always felt under my control, but I am an expert driver (retired police advanced instructor & driving examiner). I decided to leave them on for the summer and I have not been disappointed they perform very well. Excellent all year tyre Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I've done two seasons on these tyres so far. My BMW X3 now can drive in winter in a way that makes other road users crazy. I'm not a crazy driver, and Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme really allow to do a lot. Previously, I had some premium class tyres fitted (I always bought new ones), but this time the next ones will also be Vredesteins. Read more Collapse

I mounted the tires Michelin Alpin, older model (2006) 215/70 R16 99 T, which still have a decent tread, but sin that you are a bit 'aged ... Already in wet conditions do not go well at all, let alone on snow and ice?? I just installed the front, I wanted to give it a try. I would say that they are going very well. I have traveled even more than 5000 km, snow, ice, rain and even days of sunshine and rain. In each condition are OUTSTANDING, Fantastic on snow, even up to 25-30 cm no problem. They suffer a bit 'on the ice, but then to "defeat" the ice it takes only NAILS! I had spoken well, I can not confirm that the VERY POSITIVE RATING. Maybe next year I buy two of them!
