Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme

Vredestein Wintrac 4Xtreme are awesome! I bought them after being persuaded by my friend who is a fitter, I hesitated because they're not cheap. On my car, the BMW X5, they do great, after the first wave of snowfalls I can say that it is superb, on the snow it's sensational!, in the terrain and in mud it's very cool, on motorways it's quiet and provides great grip in the wet,on water it's like on dry. Overall I'm very satisfied with it, when it comes to abrasion - I can't assess it, I did only 5 thousand miles on it, but I am very pleased. Read more Collapse

I have these tyres for the second season on my C5. Frankly speaking, Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is a very decent tyre, but manufactured "in a rush". The balancing on the same rims where summer tyres were fitted is a real hassle. One of the tyres notoriously exceeds the limit of 100 g. Other ones range from 25 to 45/50 g. On the same wheels the summer tyres have 5-15 grams. The tyres are clearly unevenly layered. After this season, I'm going to say goodbye to them and buy another pair of Michelins. Read more Collapse

Had these tyres on winter alloys for my Mitsubishi Outlander and they were excellent in snow. These are even better on 18" winter alloys on my Mitsubishi Shogun LWB SG4 (2014). Breaking and acceleration is even better, probably in part due to increased tyre width compared to the 215's I had on the Outlander. Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme are quite nice-looking tyres. My subjective assessments are very positive. I don't use my car in terrain, and in the city and on route the tyres are really fine. I bought them in December for 80 pounds per tyre and this is a really good price. I have heard good reviews for Vredestein tyres so I decided to give them a try. Put them on for the winter and they gave good performance, car always felt under my control, but I am an expert driver (retired police advanced instructor & driving examiner). I've done two seasons on these tyres so far. My BMW X3 now can drive in winter in a way that makes other road users crazy. I'm not a crazy driver, and Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme really allow to do a lot. Have had the tyres for nearly 3 years, and have actually kept them on all year round. Wear have been good and performance of car has not been restricted. Now covered a total distance of at least 20,000 miles. Will probably have to replace them soon, but will put these on again! Read more Collapse

I didn't know anything about the company before, but the Dutch manufacturer created really cool and durable tyres. The best thing about Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme is their great grip on both straights and in corners. I can definitely recommend these tyres! Read more Collapse

We've tried various brands on the car and these are by far the best all-round tyre yet. Although not as quiet as some of the softer compound tyres they are better in the wet and last at least twice as long. Read more Collapse

I mounted the tires Michelin Alpin, older model (2006) 215/70 R16 99 T, which still have a decent tread, but sin that you are a bit 'aged ... Already in wet conditions do not go well at all, let alone on snow and ice?? I just installed the front, I wanted to give it a try. I would say that they are going very well. I have traveled even more than 5000 km, snow, ice, rain and even days of sunshine and rain. In each condition are OUTSTANDING, Fantastic on snow, even up to 25-30 cm no problem. Look good, very good handling, ditto more time, I will attack my second winter in the mountains on winding roads, more motorway not hurt to get there. For now, I am very satisfied. I had a tire founded in Touareg 4.2 Benz. The car at higher speeds in the turns jumped on tires. On a wet road disaster with virtually zero adhesion of sharp braking. One of the best winter tires that I used. Tires despite hardly hear the tread of winter, the snow is hard for her to lose grip (but quattro 4x4). Very good driveability as durable.
