Tyre details: The Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 is a premium-range tyre designed for sports cars and high-performance limousines. It offers guaranteed driving safety in challenging winter conditions. The tyre features an asymmetric tread consisting of two separate parts for outstanding drivability on both dry and wet roads.

The tyre's designers paid particular attention to braking distances, which are a full 3 metres shorter on wet roads and 4 metres shorter on snow with the Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 than with winter tyres marketed by other manufacturers in the same segment. The specially profiled tread guarantees improved traction and driving stability, not only on straight roads but also when going round corners or performing sudden manoeuvres. The aggressive tread pattern with an increased density of blades maintains optimum grip regardless of the weather. The tyre's directional precision is improved by StabiliGrip technology, with three-dimensional blades set at variable angles to rapidly break through the layer of water and dry the tread. The tyre is manufactured on the basis of a Helio Compound with added silica and sunflower oil. This makes the Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 more flexible at lower temperatures and ensures that the tyre responds faster to driver movements. The tyre is the ideal solution for drivers who place emphasis not only on maximum performance and outstanding handling on a wide variety of road surfaces, but also on driving safety and reliability.

Michelin is one of the world's largest tyre manufacturers. The company manufactures tyres for passenger cars, lorries, racing vehicles, retro vehicles, 4x4 vehicles, motorbikes, bicycles, aeroplanes and industrial and agricultural machinery. Michelin tyres are positioned at the premium end of the market, which means that they are notable for their superb manufacturing quality, outstanding handling in difficult conditions and excellent driving comfort.

    Opinion from outside the UK

For such an excellent engine as mine the Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 are absolutely the best. I've originally had Michelin Cup 2 tyres (335/20/20), a type of slicks, which do the job with such powerful engine, but only on a dry and above 20 degrees Celsius. Below this temperature Cup2 tyres get kinda slippery. That's the reason why i took narrower winter Michelin PA4 which i've used below 20 degrees !!!! And the car was like sticked on wet road. Also Pilot Alpin despite being winter tyres they help the traction starting from 20 degrees Celsius and below especially on anything other than dry pavement. In winter also working great. Summer Cup2 only slicks (new!) And only are suitable for dry and above 20st C. When it's wet and below 20 C just go fro these winter tyres for best experience. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

For years, I was buying the Michelin tyres. I put much faith and trust in this brand, because so far I had no objections to their products. I always thought that the higher the price = higher quality and lack of problems. Unfortunately the Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 I bought have one annoying feature - vibrations - like a tiny pebble stuck into the tread. Despite checking the wheels, swapping their places, balancing, geometry checks - I could not eliminate this effect. The present defect does not occur in the summer set of Michelins. Unfortunately, I have to live with it and perhaps choose something else next time. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I strongly recommend buying the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tyres. These tyres are definitely amazing! They provide an ashtonishing grip in snow, slush, rain and ice. Generally speaking, they are great in all weather conditions. The grip is really good in corners. I know that these tyres provide me with safety on the road. The only little drawback is an increased fuel consumption but this is typical for all winter tyres. They are very quiet. I give them 10 out of 10. Read more Collapse

I've been using plenty of a different leading tyre brands in the past but so far i find Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 to be the best. Most likely it's the effect of putting much effort to the research and developement. I can praise it for comfor and reliability. It is very good to be used outside of the winter season as well. I'm very atisfied with Michelin PILOT ALPIN PA4 tyres, especially their low noise aspect, in fact the noise level is comparable to that of the summer tyres. In general all right, on dry and wet, but unfortunately I could not try them on the snow yet... Read more Collapse
