Nexen WINGUARD SPORT

3PMSF The presented tyre is marked with 3PMSF symbol (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake). It means that the tyre meets the EU requirements for winter tyres. The symbol is awarded after thorough tests of a tyre model in terms of snow grip.

Driving stability, incredible performance on a wet route, excellent traction and reliability - these are just a few of the features that can be used to describe the modern Nexen WINGUARD SPORT tyre. This is a sensational solution for everyday driving, designed for drivers who value dynamic driving.

Real UHP tyres from the economic sector, the advantages of which can be felt from the first drive.

CONFIDENCE AND PRECISION ON WET SURFACES

The WINGUARD SPORT model was designed primarily for driving on a water-covered road. As many as four wide, irregular perimeter channels quickly distribute fluids stored under the face of the tyre along the entire tread surface. As a result, the tyres maintain an impeccable grip regardless of the amount of water or slush.

The high traction is due to the asymmetrical tread construction, which is expanded by the transverse cross-cuts. The advanced grid of irregularly laid sipes precisely engage in snow and mud, additionally shortening the braking distance.

HIGH DURABILITY AND TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE

The tyre has an even distribution of pressure, which makes the tread rub slowly and steadily, fully performing throughout its lifespan. The modern compound in Nexen WINGUARD SPORT helped to achieve a high resistance to mechanical damage.

The blend is resistant to extreme temperatures, as a result the model retains flexibility even during severe frosts. This translates into better traction and greater driving stability, both on a straight road and cornering, and when performing unexpected, sudden manoeuvres.

QUIET AND COMFORTABLE DRIVE IN THE WINTER SEASON

The optimised tread and balanced construction of the entire tyre help to suppress the sounds emitted during driving so that even the shortest journey on Nexen WINGUARD SPORT tyres becomes a real pleasure. The model will meet the expectations of all drivers who, on par with optimal performance and driving safety, value comfort and reliability in every situation.

Thanks to the reduced rolling resistance, fuel consumption has been reduced. As a result, the Nexen WINGUARD SPORT is an economic tyre not only at the point of purchase, but also economical to use.

Sizes: from 14 to 20 inches.

I honestly am surprised by this tyre. It was recommended to me by a friend as a good alternative to tyres for about 25-30 quid per tyre. Due to my previous experience I know that each new tyre can except for the extremely cheap Chinese plastic is better than 3-4 years of use, but after all, a tyre worth its money. In snow decently, in a slough also quite good, for driving around the city and sometimes out of the city tyres in itself and honestly do not see the point of buying something more expensive. After driving almost 8k, you cannot see the wear. On dry asphalt it is a very comfortable due to the profile and size, there is a slight feeling of flushing over the asphalt, but the feeling of control remains at a good level, the abs does not respond to stronger braking as it was in the case of Michelin's earlier tyres, good drainage, under-watering , for a compact car with diesel up to 80-90 mph, a tyre just right, and if we like fast and aggressive ride, it's probably better to wait until spring :) The tyres have surprised me enough and probably also for summer Nexen also say, because I'm honest disappointed with the last Bridgestone Potenza. I am shocked because I read about this company that has turned the USA and Australian markets into demanding markets. I didn’t wanted Chinese tyres and Debica because I already had the Frigo 1 model which was the best winter tyre, beating all the expensive premium brands. Back to the point : Korean tyres - Nexen is a very soft but well-balanced tyre. Fitter was surprised that it easily balanced, he smiled when he realised what car he was mounting them to. He probably thought about driving a BMW, and not getting him on tyres, but I'm doing 1000 km a month and mainly in the city, so why I'm so expensive, and I read reviews on various forums in this BMW and everyone was happy with me too. They are quiet, they are nicely kept wet and dry, they are very good on snow. Actually, I did not notice any flaws or weaknesses of the tyres, my rating is very good for the price and quality of the product. I recommend those who are looking for good tires and for a good price. Read more Collapse

I cannot tell much about durability because I have them for not to long. I do not judge the noise level, because my car is very loud, the appearance also does not bother me because all tyres looks same to me (they are all black). Rolling resistance - cannot see any difference. Pot holes and roads irregularities? How can they suppress anything if tyres size is 215/40? Therefore, I evaluate only the driving characteristics. But these are amazing - I had different tyres - Michelin, Toyo, Falken, Continental, Kleber and many others, but these Nexens are great, comparable to the best. It is good on wet, wet, but it is simply brilliant on the snow. I probably did not have such a good one yet, really. The car is a bit lowered and low profile is not helping at all to drive in the snow, but they still stick perfectly and are predictable. And the price even several times lower. Read more Collapse

I use summer Nexen tyres and it turned out that they are quite decent. I decided to try them for winter as well. It turned out to be really good tyres. They did really well in snow, slush and wet conditions. With the loss of grip it is like: if you have a powerful car and accelerate from the start, until the system works, each one slightly skid. But what is the point? When i was accelerating normally none of the light even flashed on the dash board. Braking also at a good level. ABS system is the last think you feel. Generally I am a steady driver. On the motorways it was also ok. Outside of the city, they gave me a confident feeling on snow and wet roads. For such money, half of the previous price I do not see the difference (previous Pirelli SottoZero) so as in this ad ..... Do not be afraid of choosing them. In my car they worked well. I had some concerns buying these tyres, I only knew about them that they have a good reputation in the US and are the first tyres for KIA and HYUNDAI. After the first ride on them I could not believe that winter tyres can be so quiet. Whether this silent work was not the expense of grip on the snow, I waited a little to check it out. As soon as the snow fell, I went to the area where the snow was up to the bumper;) The tyres worked very well. Summarizing:1. Silent driving even at high speeds.2. Very good grip and manoeuvre ability on dry, wet, snowy or slush asphalt. 3. In the field with a thick layer of snow they can do it.4. Surprisingly short and equal stopping distance in all conditions, even at high speeds. Tyre is on the top five, it gives an alternative to the expensive tires of the top manufacturers. I honestly recommend! Read more Collapse

These tyres are very good for their price. I bought two brand new ones from here to go with 2 of the same that came on the rear of my car so as to have the same tyres all around. They grip well on dry and wet tarmac but not as well as summer tyres do which is to be expected. I was very surprised by just how well they grip on snow and ice. I drove just over 10000 miles on these over the winter period in the UK and there was still plenty of tread on them when I switched over to summer tyres. The tyres are a little bit noisy and hard drive on uneven and rough roads but for most part are fine. As for fuel economy I got a few less MPG on my vehicle trip computer, but nothing majorly noticeable at the pumps. All in all I would highly recommend if you want a cheap but high quality set of tyres for the winter period. Read more Collapse

Hi, I have been checking tyre offers for a long time and I have decided to trust users from an online forums and to purchase Nexen tyres. Winters are quite warm but on the dry asphalt they are very good at wet also now I got a ride on the snow no problem with starting very well brakes on the snow without losing grip. The tyres are fitted to Megane with 2.0 16v engine and it was is a purchase worth recommending for sure this year I will buy again 2 pcs. To have a full set. If someone is looking for good tyres for the amount 60 quid I recommend very good quality mixture and really very quiet tyres I was really happy after leaving the fitter because I was afraid of high winter and winter for sure it will be loud, and here a nice surprise has been done for 1 k and I cannot say the wrong opinion. I used Nexen tyres from November 2014 to the end of February 2015, I travelled about 15-20k on them. Mainly on motorways and highways. Winter this year was not too heavy, however, I had the opportunity to test them in all conditions - on the snow they behave very well both when starting, braking and cornering. On a wet surface it's a bit worse, but on dry at temperatures close to + 10C. When braking abs turned on very quickly - the mix they are made of is very soft which unfortunately translates into their quick wear, so I recommend changing to summer as soon as possible when temperatures start to raise (for economic and safety reasons). In general, the tires very decent considering the fact that they are quite cheap compared to the products of reputable manufacturers. Read more Collapse

Hello to everyone who had a similar problem when choosing tyres. Price or quality ? I did not think for a long time, because the season was close and you had to buy a set. I chose NEXENs. It does not regret the choice, the tyre is silent, no balancing problems and it wears out comparable to premium class tyres. On dry, perfect grip at speeds of up to 50 mph quiet, further 70-100mph ... surprisingly silence and great traction, keeps in the quickly overcoming bends. Beyond the roads, also great. On the icy uphill’s tyres did well! Same back down the hill. On wet I did not notice aquaplaning, very good drainage, so if you are wondering what driver to choose? I recomand NEXEN. I drove over 6000 miles on Nexen Winguard Sport and I have to admit that they are doing very good in winter conditions. Nexen Winguard Sport are doing well on both snow and slush. Since it is a winter tyre it is doing worse on tarmac than any summer tyre, especially on rut, which is due to the soft compound and hight of the tread. Nexen Winguard Sport are quite quiet for winter tyres, provide great grip and on cold autumn days is doing good in rain than all summer tyres in this size ( Michelin group especially ). Nexen Winguard Sportare not chinese tyres so they can't be compared at all. It is obvious that there are better tyres than Nexen Winguard Sport, e.g.: UG7+. Read more Collapse

Nexen Winguard Sport were bought a year ago and from the first moment I saw them I was yearning to test them. I just want to emphasise that I’m a demanding driver who sees safety as the prime aspect since I’m not only a driver but also a husband and a father. First result was A pleasant surprise: braking distance at 60mphs was 40m. Especially that the road was wet. Concerning noise, it is barely hear able. Korean manufacturer set a limit of 73db but imo Nexen Winguard Sport is way more silent even than my summer tyres in the same size. In total: I recommend Nexen Winguard Sport in 100% and summer tyres as well. Price to prize – a good choice. Read more Collapse

I am very happy with these tyres, although in the winter I did not drive the whole 2k but as for these miles everything was fine. So when it comes to noise, I'm surprised on the 80-90 mph motorway I did not feel any discomfort in the comparing to summer Bridgestone Potenza I will even say that they are making less noise. They are holding roads when cornering and altogether they have nothing to complain about. When I bought them, I had concerns, I was thinking about premium class wheels but I decided that for my winter ride it is worth buying and risking something from cheapness and it was a shot in a decade I recommend to everyone Read more Collapse

I bought tyres in November 2014. Since then, I have travelled about 8 k on them. I am very happy with them. In terms of a noise level it is less noticeable than the technical parameters. Despite the negligible number of typical winter days this season, I had several situations where the tires worked well. They drain off water and slush very well. When it comes to tyre wear, what I was worried about, I will honestly say I'm surprised. The tyres look almost like new ones and I will use several seasons for sure. These are the first tyres made by Korean manufacturer. Previously, I used several different brands, mainly premium and med range. The tyre was recommended to me by a friend who has used summer and winter Nexen tyres for several years. I am positively surprised with the quality of these tyres. No problems with balancing, and the look is nice too. Maybe more noisy than premium class tyres, but at the level of medium brands. Excellent behaviour on wet and snow. Half the price of Continental is a huge price difference for me. And it does not stand out in quality. I recommend, I think over the set for the summer Read more Collapse

Previously, I tested these tyres on the previous car, and it was 200 BHP Alfa 159 and despite my fears were great. So after changing the car, I did not think long. The tyres attribute is definitely the price, but also the behaviour on the road is really decent. With my heavy leg, the tyres give me really good advice, only a small minus is sharp cornering, but I do not know if this is due to their shortcomings or rear drive in almost 250 hp BMW. The tire is very predictable, and after the winter season you cannot see any signs of wear, therefore I recommend it! Read more Collapse

Nexen Winguard Sport are perfectly competent winter tyres. Sure, there are better out there and the Kumho KW15 I used to use were certainly grippier on snow and slush but I'm perfectly content with the performance of these tyres for the price paid. They are approximately half the price of the premium winter tyres I had before and are still considerably better than running summer tyres in winter conditions. They cope with the 230bhp of the car perfectly well. We also use the same model of tyre in 205/55R16 on our Volvo V50 and they work well there too. Read more Collapse

Hello. I bought based on the opinion and guided by the low price of the product. Purchase was a total failure. The tyre behaves correctly only on dry surfaces. Despite the index to 150 mph in the rain on the highway I did not drive above 70mph. I just felt the lack of stability and control over the car, the front wheels had very limited grip in rainy conditions and despite the quattro drive I felt very vulnerable. Normal tests for this car - a quick ride through the roundabout ended with the departure of the front axle outside the bend. I do not recommend Read more Collapse

Nexen WINGUARD SPORT is a very good tyre for a very good price and I am positively suprised. I did not expect miracles but I have to say that Nexen WINGUARD SPORT goes pretty awesome on wet, dry tarmac. sometimes it breaks the grip when movin-off aggresively. The braking is ok. In the mud, snow is a bit worse but still you have to remember that it is not a high-performance tyre. I have Conti 830 in my other car and they are better but the price was higher as well. to sum up, I will deifinitely buy Nexen WINGUARD SPORT once again. Read more Collapse

Nexen WINGUARD SPORT behaved well on wet and dry tarmac. ABS turned on very seldom and the ESP did not have to interfere to often as well. When it is about driving on snow I have to say that Nexen WINGUARD SPORT behaved very poor. I have to addmit that I got about 200kg load in my trunk. Even short hills caused a lot of problems. I had to use a tug several times. Now I have enough. I won't save on tyres anymore. Now I bought Pirelli SotoZero and I will compare them to Nexen WINGUARD SPORT very soon. Read more Collapse

I cant say a lot about the Nexen WINGUARD SPORT tyres as I drove on them less than 200 miles. I drove them literally 250 km. Mainly on highway. The tyres perform good during the little rain in temaperatur between 2-5 C degreese. My tyres size is 2015/55 R 17 falling slightly rain, temperature approx. 2 - 5 C. If I comapre them to my previous Continental tyres I cant see too many diference. The combustion is similar. The tyres are not too loud and comfortable. I do recommend! Read more Collapse

Previously I had Dunlop SP Sports summer tyres which cost more than £ 600 and were more louder than my Nexen winter tyres. Im very happy with these tyres and next year propably I will buy Nexen tyres again. They perform very well in both wet surface and snow condition even in the mountain. During the autumn and spring the tyres still work very good. The pattern tread is very attractive and look very nice on my car. I do recommend Nexen tyres! Good quality to price ratio! The Nexen tyres are manufactured in advanced technology. The asymmetric pattern tread makes the car better cornering grip and confidence on icy road. I was not disappointed on tyres purchased. Good braking. They provide comfortable driving. Even in sharp corners you still feel confident. They are a bit louder than summer tyres but it is an utterly normal thing Most importantly for most family budgets, they do not cost that much as a premium class tyres.I do recommend! I was very pleased and nice surprised by the behavior of these tyres. The Nexen tyres perform fobulous on wet and dry roads.. During braking it behaves predictably, it is easy to feel the moment of balancing on the verge of the grip which very often activated the ABS. The behavior in snow is very good, the noise level is quite low considering that they are winter tyres. I will buy Nexen WINGUARD SPORT tyres again. I do recommend this tyres and oponeo online shop. To buy Nexen tyres I was convinced by loads of a good reviews on the internet. So i purchased them. In dry conditions perfect. Wet conditions at low temperatures around 0 quite good. The problem starts on the snow for what tyre is dedicated for, especial on uphill covered with snow. Traction even at low speeds - a really bad. I do not know who scored these positive in snow conditions, but for me, Nexen tyres are terrible and indefinitely not for snow. Read more Collapse

I would recommend Nexen tyres. Very good value for money. The tyres manufactured in Korea. To be honest, I was little afraid before i purchsed the Nexen tyres , I wasnt sure it is the best idea. First time I bought them about 4 years ago and I was bit dissapinted. Now, the company has improved significantly the quality of their products. In my opinion, the Nexen tyres are not different from those of the class preminium. Good money for a good tyre. Read more Collapse

Wasn't expecting miracles from a cheaper brand of tyre than I usually put on my vehicle but I was shocked at how good these actually are. Much more cornering confidence and a low road noise makes for an all round good tyre. They do throw the road dirt onto the paint alot more than normal summer tyred but it doesn't matter when your interested in safety for having 2 under 3 year old in the car. Read more Collapse
