Nankang NS 2

The Nankang NS 2 is noted for its rapid water dispersal and optimal grip, making it popular with drivers who value safety and a dynamic style of driving, whatever the weather. A smooth profile guarantees better grip and means that the tyre exerts an even pressure on the road surface. This results in slower and more even wear to the tread, which means that it retains its full performance features for its entire lifetime. The model uses an innovative directional tread pattern with curved grooves in a V-shaped pattern, ensuring excellent performance on wet surfaces, optimal water dispersal and minimising the risk of aquaplaning. The designers have strengthened the tyre's shoulder area, resulting in a smooth driving experience and ensuring stability, even on uneven surfaces.

The tyre performs exceptionally well on dry roads. Shorter braking distances and steering precision mean that everyday summer driving becomes a genuine pleasure. The Nankang NS 2 offers a safe and comfortable driving experience as the sipes in the side of the tread reduce vibrations and noise whilst driving. Another benefit of this model is the low rolling resistance, resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions. Thanks to its properties and durability, the tyre performs exceptionally well on Polish roads, whilst its attractive design gives the car a modern, stylish appearance.

Nankang

The history of the Nankang brand dates back to 1959. The rapid development of the Taiwanese brand was down to a high demand for diagonal tyres and other rubber products. This meant that the brand developed very quickly and the company started to sell its products outside Asia. Nankang tyres are now exported to over 100 countries worldwide. Nankang specialises in the production of economy car tyres but also produces tyres for lorries, off-road vehicles and aircraft (helicopters and military aircraft). As well as its own brand, Nankang also manages the companies Sonar Tire and Roadiac.

    Opinion from outside the UK

Since 1998 I've been driving with Conti or Bridgestone and than I realised that 3-5 season tires are just tragic and I decided to buy new Nankangs NS2. 225/45/17 are realy good. They are much more quiet than Dunlop Sport 2000 and Fulda Exelero. They are not feathering.I checked them in a quite huge rain and I wasn't disappointed. I wont dispute with fake drivers who claim that any new tires are hopeless. They should know that driving into a wall of rain on hot tires or braking in the rut full of water even with the most expensive tires can be dangerous... you cannot cheat the laws of physics. The new tire from a less known Porducent will always be better than multi-seasonal from best known. I have tested them in Corsa, Getz, Panda, AstryII, A3, A4, A6, C and E classes during winter and summer. I was very skeptical about the Nankangs but they suprised me positively..It makes no sense to overpay and buy expensive tyres when you can buy cheaper and comparable Nankangs. Read more Collapse

Wide tyres always equal much of expense. For now I was buying only High Performance tyres from well known brands. Summer- Uniroyal RainSport and Winter- Conti Winter Contact. This year it was to much for me to pay for Uniroyals and I have decided to go for Nankang NS 2. I asked a friend of mine who actually is much into motorsport etc. and he advised me that Nankang NS 2 are worth buying. In Scandinavia Nankang is just a hit and they are becomming more and more popular in the US and Australia. I do recommend Nankang NS 2 as in my opinion there is no point of wasting 800GBP for a new set of tyres as you can equip yourselves with a good performing tyre for a relatively low price. I have these tyres for 3 years and I dont know from where all those positive reviews come. I drove a lot of kilometers on them and I can say that the only thing that is ok with them is the design. When it comes to driving in wet conditions youd better pray to the almighty. A bit of rain and ABS turns on all the time. They have M+S sign so they supoused to be all weather but when the first snow comes you must wear Winter tyres. These tyres doesn't stick to the snow at all. In addition Nankangs are very expensive considering such a bad braking. The only advantages are that they do not rub off quickly and they look nice. I will never ever buy them again. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

I bought my Nankang NS 2 in the size 195/45R15 to fit my 7'' Zenders. I drive with Seat Ibiza 1.9TDi and I am very satisfied with my NS 2. The price / quality ratio is very good in this case. I wanted to have a bit cheaper tyres as I was not satisfied with my previous Bridgestones. Nankang NS 2 seems to be ok in my 130 BHP Ibiza. It doesn't matter whether it is rainy or the sun is shining, tyres perform pretty good in any weather condition. Right now the autum is about to come and my tyres are not afraid of it. The only disadvantage is that Nankang NS 2 is a bit less resistant to aquaplaning. All in all, NS 2 are worth my recommendation. Read more Collapse

In general I can compare Nankang NS 2 to my previous Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. One tyre has blown away so I had to buy 2 new tyres to fit my front axis. My choice has fallen on Nankang NS 2. Why? My last tyres were second hand ones, which actually effected with shorter life of those tyres. I was looking for 2 new tyres for not more than 120 GBP. Before I bought Nankang NS 2 I have read a lot of reviews and most of them were positive. I drove about 3000 miles right now and I have to say that Nankang NS 2 are awesome. Somebody wrote here that they are crap. I do not agree. With my 130bhp Ibiza they perform absolutely fine. Read more Collapse

Honestly I don't know who drives on these tyres and is satisfied with them. I have Mondeo MK4 and I decided to buy that crap. Since now I cannot understand why i bought them. They were quite good when they were new. After a season of driving they seemed to me not used to much but they were veeeery noisy. I was so desperate that I even changed the rear left bearing because i couldn't believe that the noise is caused by my "new tyres". The tread is a complete disaster. They are much more noisy than asymetric ones, Braking on wet road surface is almost impossible. I dont recomend it 4 sure. Read more Collapse

Good good tyre. Has done very well so far, good on dry surfaces and surprisingly good in wet despite running very low profile tyres. Excellent tread pattern. Made from a slightly different compound to other European manufacturers which is supposedly built to last. Upon my inspections, this is definitely become apparent. I'm happy. Only negative is that they are quite noisy however I knew they would and factored that in. It's been several months and noise has gone, so that could be due to wearing them in. From my experience I would recommend these. Read more Collapse

It is my 3rd set of Nankang NS 2. First two sets I had fited to my Honda Accord. They were definitely the best tyres I have ever had in my life .I was very pleased with them so I decided to buy my 3rd set of Nankang NS 2 to fit my Merc E Class. I had to balance them twice and finally they got properly formed on my wheel. My used continental that I had previously in that Merc was more silent and they used 0.5L less fuel. I will not buy them to my Merc any more. All in all i think that Nankang NS 2 is a decent tyre and they are worth the money. Read more Collapse

I bought Nankang NS 2 to fit my Leon 1.8T 180 bhp. I drove about 2500 miles in different weather conditions. I can trully recommend those Nankang NS 2. I had Pirelli P7000 and Continental ContiSport previously fitted to my car. WIth Nankang NS 2 my fuel usage got lowered in comparison to Pirelli. What is more NS 2 wears-off relatively slow in comparison to Continental. I am satisfied with my eastern tyres. I wanted to check them and compare their quality to well known brand ones and I think that Nankang NS 2 are definitely worth buying. Read more Collapse

I searched a long time before I decided to buy Nankang NS2. I've read a lot, but I know that oppinions are different one from another . I have Audi a6 1.8T 150HP,Maybe it is not a God of speed, but both at low and high speeds I found no noise, When I see people comparing Summer Tyres to Winter Tyres I'm a bit confused. I dont know summer tires, which would behave in the wet as in the dry (especially with the dynamic driving). I did already more than 10,000 km and didnt notice anything wrong. I would certainly recommend them. Read more Collapse

Hi. I bought my car and it already weared Nankangs NS2 with 6-7mm tread. They are average on dry road. Everything seems to be ok but when it comes to more agressive style of driving they are poor. I have 220BHP Audi. These tyres are very poor on wet surface I have to say that they slip and dont do well in puddles. It makes a lot of noise. I bought new NoiansWRG2 and they are much more quiet than Nankangs. Bigest advantage is the low attricction. But it seems that the manufacturer paid more attention to attriction than safety. Read more Collapse

I had become tired of the part worn garages/rip-off merchants; I learnt that for an extra £25 (per tyre) I could have safe and new tyres. I was never apprehensive in buying this brand because I know that Nankang has been going a long time and these are engineered in Taiwan; and for the price, it makes sense to purchase them. Since being fitted, they have proved to have good longevity and durability with no air loss unlike other cheap rubbish whose rubber degenerates quite quickly, I would certainly buy these again.. On dry conditions Nankangs NS2 are quite good tyres. They dont rub off as fast as Barum did. I drive 2 seasons on them and I can make 2 more for sure. If the rain falls youd better not drive. Wheels are blocking very fast. While moving you have to watch out because the grip breaks fast. You better get used to Aquaplaning. I dont advise you to drive trough puddles. To be a bit polite I have to say that the tread looks nice :)) I wont buy them again because driving in the rain makes me feel like driving on ice. Read more Collapse

Very low attriction. I drove 45k kms in summer. They grip very well. They are a bit noisy but its not an issue for me. Also they are bad on wet. They didnt disappoint me. Hello I am writing this review for people in a similar situation as I was. Nankang tires were terrible. Fortunately Oponeo solved my problem in a very professional way. They took the tire back, examined it and found my right. I was offered three choices: cash, new Nankangs or other tires. I chose the third option and I took Pirelli Cinturato P7. My review connects the 215/50R17 size - maybe others are better. In comparison to GoodYear Eagle NCT Nankangs NS2 give a sufficient handling. The problem is the noise which is generated by Nankangs. They howl so badly especialy while driving 80-100km/h. They noise is also noticeable while driving 50km/h. What is more - they are not round. It was noticeable when I went to fitting station to balance them. They had 1-2 mm bulges. I dont recommend them. Read more Collapse

Very nice design. The noise level is moderate. Adhesion ok. They slip a bit when braking on wet, you need to be careful in deep puddles. Realy fine on dry surface. I bought them for the front axle, next year I want to buy a second set to the rear. I would recommend them, especially during sale (I paid 80GBP for 2). Good choice for the C class cars, with the average engine (my 2.2 DTI, 125 hp). Read more Collapse

I bought these tyres with a dose of doubt. as it occured later my doubts were unnecessary because they are brilliant. I have RWD in my car. 170BHP BMW e36 so i need good tires to transfer the torque to the tarmac. These tyres are brilliant even on wet road. It is waste of money when considering buying Goodyear or Continental. I recommend Nankangs NS2. I will buy them in the future for sure. Read more Collapse

Nankang NS 2 205/40R17 provides good tire tension. They are cheap and they dont rub off quickly. I drove 3 seasons (about 45-50 thousand km) and I think I will still use them. They perform well in the summer, but in autumn, when the temperature drops below 10 celsius degree I have problems with braking, especially on wet roads. You have to prepare for an early transition to winter tires. Read more Collapse

Superb tires in dry conditions. Perfect in tight corners. They behave very well while braking. ABS turns on only in extreme situations. On wet conditions they behave good as well. No aquaplaning at all. They are quiet and comfortable even with profile 35R16. I think that i will make 2 seasons on them. I had Fulda Exelero earlier and i dont recomend them. Nankang NS2 are much more better. Read more Collapse

There was a problem with balancing them but finnaly the guy there managed to do it. Besides they are realy dangerous on wet road. They don't do well while braking. Tires tend to wobble, which certainly can affect the bearings. It is noticeable when driving 120 km\ h - 140 km\ h Due to attrition of tyres the beating decreases. Excelent in the rain but when the road surface will become a bit snowy you can lose control of the car, Not suitable for winter driving. Recommended for city drivers. Read more Collapse
