Tyre details:

the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D is a winter tyre that guarantees excellent driveability and grip on any road conditions and whatever the weather. The model features a directional tread pattern to ensure rapid dispersal of water, mud and snow, which prevents aquaplaning and improves driving stability.

Control over the vehicle on snowy, icy, wet and dry surfaces is guaranteed thanks to the combination of the innovative tread design and the use of materials that offer excellent grip. The tyre's performance in extreme conditions is due to its unique tread pattern and the numerous gripping edges on the blocks, which remain in constant contact with the road. The designers of the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D have also fitted the tyre with blocks in the central part of the tread, which improve grip when braking, accelerating and climbing uphill. The tyre is made from an innovative, light rubber compound, which reduces rolling resistance thanks to its lightness. This in turn results in lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The compound is also noted for its high grip and flexibility, which reduces braking distances, guaranteeing increased safety on the road and driving confidence. The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D is resistant to wear and mechanical damage. Furthermore, pressure is distributed evenly within the tyre, which means that the tread wears evenly and the model offers its full performance specifications for its entire lifetime.

Dunlop was founded in 1985. The company specialises in the production of premium tyres noted for their excellent manufacturing quality, optimal performance and driver comfort. The excellent reputation of the tyres made by this manufacturer is reflected in their use as original parts in car makes such as: Audi, BMW, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Seat and Skoda. Goodyear currently holds the majority share in Dunlop.

Hello, I decided to share my opinion about the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D with you. I decided to choose these tyres because I had the previous model Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D in my Vauxhall Astra H. I changed the tyres and I do not regret. The price was very good but the date of manufacture (DOT number) was not available. The tyres were from September 2013. They were mounted on brand-new steel wheels. There was absolutely no problem when it comes to balancing and alignment. I have been using these Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres for one winter season. They are very reliable. They have never let me down. They are really quiet. They have good labels, especially when compared to different tyres in a similar price. The tyres are equipped with a directional tread pattern that gives an amazing performance. I have an impression like I was driving a car on summer tyres. It is obviously a premium brand. They are a bit louder than summer tyres but it is an utterly normal thing. Their grip is superb. I was hesitating between 55 and 65 profile size but I think the second one is better for winter season. I do recommend the Dunlop SP winter Sport 4D! Read more Collapse

I bought a set of new tyres together with brand-new alloy wheels dedicated to my new Vauxhall Insiginia. I decided for Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D. At the very beginning I had an impression that after fitting the tyres look like they were square. After warming them up and driving a longer distance they started to look and work properly. I am satisfied with a quality of these tyres. However, next time I have to choose a better fitting station. I think the tyres were not fitted properly to the wheels. The tyres have good reviews. They provide a good adhesion in different temperatures. The components that were used to build the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D are lightweight. Therefore, the rolling resistance is reduced. Although I initially had some issues with these tyres I think that their quality is one of the best. I would like to recommend them to everybody. Very good quality to price ratio. Read more Collapse

I use Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D in a quite big size 235/65R17 in my 4x4. They are marvelous. I have to addmit that when I am driving on snow I felt very confident. I had full control over the car for the whole time. It is hard for me to judge the moving-off properties as in my 4x4 it is just splendid even when the road was a bit icy. Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D are ery good tyres, the ESP turns-on very seldom. They "pull" very nice :) oN dry road surface no probs at all. I love how they perform in my 4 x 4. They give me so much confidence and an excellent driving comfort. On the ice they are a bit slippy but none of the tyres avaliable on the martker would behave on ice same as on dry/wet road surface. All in all Dunlop Sp Winter Sport 4D are very good winter tyres! You would be pretty much shocked how good SP Winter Sport 4D can be. Read more Collapse

I purchased the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres manufactured in Germany. The wheel balancing and alignment went very smoothly. The size I bought is 195/65 R15) which seems to be a bit small when compared to summer tyres of Kumho manufacturer that I had previously mounted on my vehicle. Tyres are doing very well in different weather conditions. In my second car I had an older version (3D model) of the same size. In 4D they improved many things like tread pattern, rubber compound, wet grip, fuel economy and noise level. The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D provides low rolling resistance which is typical of this class of tyres. It is a bit difficult for me to rate their noise level because my car has a diesel engine and it is too loud outside. I do recommend both 3D and 4D model of Dunlop SP Winter Sport tyres! The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres are very interesting. The area I live in is exposed to difficult weather conditions, especially in a winter season. The tyres have never let me down. They provide a feeling of safety on a road. Their rolling resitance is low. They are environmentally friendly tyres. Their main advantages are: aquaplaning resistance, extended tread-life, lessens fuel consumption. The tyres look really great because of their unique tread pattern. I think that in snow and mud they behave as good as in dry weather. I would like to add that in my other cars I used Michelin tyres, of which I was happy. These Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres seem to be as good as Michelins. It was a good purchase. It is a splendid product. It has my rcomendation. Read more Collapse

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D are probably the most expensive, all weather tyres that I have ever bought. In my case these tyres were not sufficient. They started to slip when the temperature got below -20 celssius. despite that fact, the rest is awesome. My car handles very good, they behave very good on the after-snow mud. Water is not disturbing them as well. In comparison to my last Goodyear UG Performance, Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D have better side grip which has a huge influence on the cornering. Goodyears had better moving-off properties but worse braking. SP Winter Sport 4D in both cases are just splendid. In my opinion the SP Winter Sport 4D are the best tyres that i ever had on any of my cars. I can trully recommend them. Read more Collapse

The tyres are pretty good. My decision to purchase the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres was basend on many differeny factors but the main one was their noise level. I am very satisfied with a quality of Winter Sport 4D model. I have not noticed any serious disadvantages. I had some CWC 830 P tyres previously mounted on my vehicle and they were even quieter. My next purchase will be probably CWC again. It is worth reading drivers' reviews on tyres before you place your order. It is also good to talk with a fitter or people who tested particular product. You can also find many tests in different sources. If somebody asked me if these tyres are worth their price, I would say without any doubts that yes, they are. Read more Collapse

As I bought Vauxhall Corsa without ESP i decided to buy a bit more expensive tyres - mainly mi wife drives that car. Personaly, I did not have to many oportunities to drive the car on a parking lot etc. but I've tested Dunlop Winter Sport 4D in polish mountains. Winter Sport 4D are worth their price. They work pretty awesome in deep snow and on hills - I was shocked that for a whole winter they did not disappoint me even once. When I saw my neighbours digging in snow in the morning I was very happy that I do not have such issues with my Winter Sport 4D. On the dry tarmac they are much more quiet than summer tyres. If you have some money in your wallet, You have to buy Dunlop Winter Sport 4D. Read more Collapse

I bought Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D after I read a few reviews about them. If I knew that they are such a crap I wouldn't buy them. When the snow felt down I was a bit confused with Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D as I saw that they do not behave quite good. On the mud my car was driving anywhere it liked. Now when a bit more snow felt down and a bit of ice occured, I decided to test them on the parking lot near Supermarket and my feelings became true. No grip at all. Next 2 seasons I will drive like an old granny. Dunlop Winter Sport 4D produce a lot of noise which is a drawback for me as well. To those who want to buy Winter Sport 4D: do not buythem, they are'nt worth a penny. Read more Collapse

Hello, I bought four brand-new Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres. I have been driving a lot on them and their tread worn out pretty quickly. They are great tyres, especially when they are new. After some time they loose their performance as all tyres. My driving style is an aggressive one. I like to drive fast. I drive mainly in a city and on a highway from time to time. I do not regret my purchase because The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D provides an astonishing grip and it looks great! I placed another order with this company for SP 01 summer tyres, which are really durable. If you are looking for premium class tyres in a reasonable price, then these are tyres for you. My previous tyres were Semperit. They were very good. I decided to go for some better product and purchased Continental tyres. They were very durable and quiet. Now I have the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D and I am satisfied with the quality. There is only one thing - the noise level. It was not a main criterion before I made my purchase as I have a Mercedes vehicle and it is quiet and comfortable enough. I would recommend the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D to all drivers who like to drive a bit faster. However, if you plan to buy the quietest tyres possible, it would be better to go for some Japanese or Korean tyres as they are usually the quietest. Read more Collapse

Take part in a bit of skiing locally in the highlands. Was up for a week and made it up a very slippy incline with ease thanks to these tyres, no other car made it up! BMW's, audi quatros, vans, buses police cars etc. sailed right past them, what a difference; the week before i did a breaking test with them to see if these was any genuine difference, and there is! A huge difference! Breaking distance is harly extended at all with these tyres when in snow/ ice, which is amazing Also seen a increase in fuel economy during the period these tyres were on. Used them up until mid spring and still had great taction, never slipped once Read more Collapse

I read a lot of positive reviews about Dunlpo SP Winter Sport 4D and they made my mind to buy them. For now I had Pirelli, but I wanted to try something new. After 3 weeks I decided to check if the tyres that I bought are legit. Than I checked the balancing in two different fitting stations. Everything was perfect with them. They were legit, and there were no problems with balancing. In general Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D work very nice on dry road even if the temperature goes below -10. I am very satisfied with them. Even on ice my cars stops without ABS. Last week i had an opportunity to drive 300 meters up-hill which was covered with ice. I had no problems with that at all. I purchased the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D in the size 205/60R16 H rated for my Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback. Driving in a rainy weather is a pleasure when you have these tyres mounted on your car. They are perfect for driving in snow and slush. With the help of ESP and ABS sytems they are dealing with the most demaning weather conditions. It was a bit difficult to balance the tyres. It is my third winter with these tyres and they are still like they were new. From my perspective, the price is good as they are top quality tyres. I do recommend the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D. Hi, I would like to share my opinion about the Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D tyres. I had an opportunity to drive a car with these tyres before I placed my order with Oponeo. I decided to purchase these tyres because of their parameters. The tyres are good looking, their grip is fantastic. The only drawback is their noise level. They are quite loud. I did not expect that. The tyres are soft. They provide an excellent grip. The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D is a tyre that will never let you down no matter how fast you drive! I agree that they are a bit loud but for me it does not matter. There were designed for more demanding drivers. They are very durable. They are resistant to all kinds of mechanical damage and abrasions. To be honest, this is my second set of Dunlops (earlier I had SP Sport 9000 - splendid tyres). Winter Sport 4D give me Very confident braking. They swim a bit in fast corners. Very good handling. On snow -without restrictions. I drove few thousand miles in this season - Dunlop Winter Sport 4D are totally ok. Read more Collapse

The tires have done 7000 miles in all conditions including a full winter in the alps. They are wearing well and are being used over the summer, they have given me great grip in dry and wet driving, excelling under winter conditions at very low temperatures in snow and slush. I was concerned about increased noise when compared to the previous factory fitted all season types, that is not the case and the tyres produce no more noise than the originals Read more Collapse

I used Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D on my 360BHP Evo X for one season. I drove about 1.5k miles on dry/wet road in speeds even up to 150 mph. Very confident handling, I can risk the statement that they are just as good as summer tyres. They squeak a bit while moving off. On snow, the tyre provides me with confident handling and confidence. It gives a lot of fun when drifting on snow as well. For now no visible signs of tread wear. Read more Collapse

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D are quiet and they provide perfect grip on wet road and snow. On dry, hot tarmac they can squeak a bit. Very low attriction (just to compare: last season I had Firestones WH2 and only about 3mm of the tread left). Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D are way better than goodyear UG7+ (I used about 3 sets of UG7+). Read more Collapse

Overall, the tyres are performing very well on cold, frosty and muddy roads. This winter has had little snow, so I have only limited experience with snow. If I have one slight concern, the incidence of sideways aquaplaning when running into standing water on road surface at speed seems higher than I expected. Read more Collapse

Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D ideal for urban winter conditions, on the way to and during commuting to mountain ski resorts where early season mountain roads are snow-covered and icy. Even with aggressive racing tire is hard to move out of balance. Keeps confident and stable even when cornering fast to overcome the mountain. Tires as far excel very well. In winter this year has provided both a lot of snow and rain and slush. Tires on all surfaces behave very well. In dry conditions hold very well and are quiet, especially on the highway. On the snow in urban conditions also do not exercise problems. In normal driving style (mixed driving without szpanowania velocity) of each user's certainly not disappoint. I would recommend to anyone. Read more Collapse

    Opinion from outside the UK

Purchased tires Dunlop WS 4D definitely better than the previous WS 3D which was using in the previous Peugeot. They are characterized by very low noise when turning and a good damping drgań.śnieg was admittedly only a week but showed the level of the premium. When it comes to attrition after the first season it is difficult to say because I drove too small distance. I would definitely recommend these tires! Read more Collapse
